Setting up NAT Overload on Cisco 2600
s0c0
I need to setup NAT on a 2600 for a school project. There are three routers. Rouer A and B connect to the serial interfaces on Router C. Router C has 2 ethernet interfaces. E0 connects toa switch E1 should be the gateway to the internet.
However there is something funky with the way I want to set this up. Router C's E1 interface is connected to a small d-link router. This router is getting a dynamic IP from the schools DHCP server. I can ping the d-link (192.168.2.253) from my router's E1 (192.168.2.1), but none of the computers connected to my Router C can access the internet.
I have been on google for a while now looking for good documentation on setting up a NAT overload. I tried cisco's site as well, but I am still having difficulty. Can anyone help me out or provide me w/ a link to some good documentation.

Sounds like the same issue that popped up in these forums several times in the past. You need to make sure that the D-Link router knows the route back to the networks behind router C. If the D-link router supports RIP you can do it automatically, else you need to configure static routes on the D-link router. If computers attached to router A and B also need to connect to the Internet through the D-link router, it also needs to know the routes back to those networks.
The D-link router will perform NAT since it is connected to the Internet, there's no need to configure it on the 2600 if it is not the border between your private internetwork and the public internet.
