How best to gain IDM IAM experience?

I am very interested in the Identity (Access) Management fields. There seem to be many players (SAP, CA, Novell, Ping).
I have many years of Active Directory experience and have been involved with major acquisitions providing custom vba based utilites to provision user access... (I am mainly a scripting guy not a programmer.) Do I need to redirect my focus to learn Java?
Since there is no single sought after cert, does anyone have recommendations?
For what it's worth my current cert plans are: CCSK exam in March, CRISC exam in June, CISSP late 2014 to 2015.
