I gotta say, I've used rebooting as a solution throughout my career a few times but this is ridiculous. A system the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms uses to get electronic forms has been experiencing issues for at least 6 months. Their solution:
Performance improvement through reboots. Ain't that lovely?
In an attempt to improve the performance of eForms we are restarting the eForms system everyday at the following times (Eastern time). During each restart eForms will be unavailable for 1 hour.
Restart times:
4:00 AM
9:00 AM
NOON
4:00 PM
11:00 PM

Rebooting is never a solution. It is a workaround. Sometimes, the workaround is more acceptable than the real solution, but too often it is due to people who are too busy, too incompetent, or too lazy to troubleshoot.IT guy since 12/00
Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands... -
