You can start with MCSA SQL either 2008 or 2012: exams 70-461 (Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012), 70-462 (Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases), and 70-463 (implementing a Data Warehouse with Microsoft SQL Server 2012). And, then you continue to MCSE SQL.

    My 2014 Goals:

    MCSA Windows Server 2012: 70-410 [ ] 70-411 [ ] 70-412 [ ]
    VMware Certified Associate-Data Center Virtualization: VCA-DCV [ ]
    CompTIA Storage+: SGO-001 [ ]

I'm now an SQL expert at all but I believe with experience you could eventually go with Oracle as well as it is also widely used. From what my colleague who is DBA told me, it's good to know both of them.
