Should I Go Back

And do soome 2008 certs? Ive got my MCSA 2012 but my resume doesnt have any 2008 stuff on there whether it be MCSA Win7, MCITP's, MCTS's even though i use 2008rd and Win 7 at work i just went straight for the 2012 track.

I have a nagging feeling i should go back and pick up a MCTS at least or even skip the MCSE track and go and do the CCNA! arggghhh I dont know what to do lol

Just my opinion but your resume will have 2008R2 experience and 2012 certifications (which cover a lot of the same material as the 2008 ones) so I don't think there's any benefit to going back.

Personally, you are only 2 tests away from MCSE, that would look a lot better on a resume than MCSA in 2008 and 2012, I'd get that. MCSE is a really good certification.

I agree with unfbilly11. Keep moving forward with your MCSE. Not sure what the CCNA has to do with it. I would keep your momentum to finish the MCSE and if your goals or job requirements merit it go towards the CCNA afterwards.

Wayne - what work experience do you have? What type of job are you looking for? The answers to those questions can help us better advise you. As to going back to take older certs? No need. I have never seen it be a problem where someone said "we only use 2008 so your 2012 certifications are not valuable". To pass the newer certs you need a decent background in the material on the older ones. DHCP is DHCP, DNS is DNS, etc. Some of the details change but the basics have remained.

I have to agree with the other guys here. It's like you have a VCP5 and the company only uses version 4.x. They're not not going to hire you because you don't have a VCP4. In fact, they might even prefer you than an other with a 2008 cert. What if they want to upgrade their servers to 2012? They're not going to hire someone who never used or almost hasn't used 2012 against someone who is certified in 2012 and has done this type of upgrade before.
