Which cert is more technical?

I have passed the following: MCSE 2003, VMWare VCP4 and VCP5, and Palo Alto CNSE 4.

I have started looking at some security certs: SSCP, CISSP, GIAC, etc. It appears to me that most of the third party certs are less technical in nature and not aimed at someone performing the installations of the firewalls, creating and installing the DMZ, installing the servers etc.

Is that correct? If so, which is the more technical of the third party certs?

I realize that is a wide open question and does not address the whole "what do I want to do for a job etc". I am more of a generalist and have to handle (for 12+ years) everything from wireless, switches, AD, SQL, Exchange, VMware, firewalls etc. and would simply like to add to my current knowledgebase (and resume).

Any thought would be appreciated,
Bob

CISSP is more towards a higher end compliance and managerial stuff like risk management. GIAC is more hands on, GSEC is a basic towards compliance stuff with some hands on while GCIH is the foundation technical knowledge that can build towards various technical role in IT Security.
