Voucher & Security+ 301 expiration

I just read somewhere that a new version of the Security+ exam is coming out in may, and that version 301 will expire at the end of this year.

I received a voucher from work for ver. 301, but don't think I will be able to take the exam anytime soon. I take it - I'm good until the end of this year, right?

So basically, there is a 6 month time frame where one can take either the 301 or 401 exam?
