Does any use the following? and if so, is it trust worthly?

Like Test King, I used to used for my MS exam etc ....
but they dont always have the correct answers there etc ..

1 www.xamsrus.com
2 ****
3 cramsession
4 www.****.com
5 www.whizlabs.com
6 www.****.com

I understand you must really know your stuff, and I am busy checking out those sites to see if it is helpful, and always correct like this site (98% of the time - then members correct it if it is wrong icon_cool.gif

I hear a lot of people use www.****.com, and it has proven to be valuable. I can't say the same for the others, especially #2, which I hear mentioned quite a bit. It doesn't sound legal..

Most of those sites, I must say, not very trust worthly.

I am not trying pass the exam without knowing my stuff.

I did not even believe in using forums to help study - until I got to techexams. I have gotten some really good tips and gotten a much bigger picture of networking \ ccna etc ...

    Thanks for the site.

Two samples I got from "****" has got to do with subnetting.

Do you guys agree with this?

It has made me understand things better - check it out:

Calculation of Subnetmask big enough for a specified number of Hosts

    If they ask..

"create a subnet with minimum 10 host IPs"

    than

    1. calculate a power of two, that is minimum 10

    2^3=8. That is not enough
2^4=16 That is higher than 10. Good.

    2. Now put the LAST 4 Bits of your subnetmask to 0.

    11111111.11111111.11111111.11110000

    That is in decimal

    255.255.255.240

With THIS Subnetmask, you have minimum 10 Host-Ips in the Subnet, without wasting to much IP-Addresses.

    and how about this:

Calculation what is the Broadcast-IP of a Subnet

    When they ask
"There is subnet 172.16.64.0/20. What is the BROADCAST ADDRESS of that Subnet, dude?"

    1. Step

    /20 meens 255.255.240.0

    2. Step

Now analyze the Subnet Oktett to find out the "network-jumps"

    240 means 11110000

The LAST of the 1s is under decimal 16. That are our "network jumps"
    (128/64/32/16/8/4/2/1)
    3. Step

    Write down the network-jumps

    172.16.64.0 - 172.16.79.255
    +16 172.16.80.0 - 172.16.95.255
    +16 172.16.96.0 - 172.16.111.255
    +16 172.16.112.0 - 172.16.127.255

Because the NEXT Subnet in the example is 172.16.80.0, the broadcast must be 172.16.79.255, cause THAT is the IP BEFORE the next Subnet starts = the BroadcastAddress.

I am busy testing it, it really seems to help me do subnetting quickly.
This user gave 5 or 6 quick help tips with regards to subnetting.

Go onto google and type, "Everything you ever wanted to know about subnetting." It should give you a 45-page pdf on...well, everything subnet-related.

To be honest, if you want to know the material you need to be able to learn everything about it. Instead of taking shortcuts, learn different methods of achieving the same end result. It's also good to memorize block sizes, big multiplications(16,32,etc) and so on. You need to be able to subnet in your head as quickly as you can. without error. ;)

I know a lot of instructors who used the pdf above to learn, and so did I.

I have heard ****.com is fairly reputable as KGhaleon mentions above. I think it is US$39 and you got two months to use their exam simulations to try and get everything into your noggin. They look pretty good to me. You definetely should get some practice questions 500+ from books, sites, whatever so that you feel comfortable answering questions.
