I have a user with a 10 GB my docs folder that contains many file names over 260 characters, which is making backing it up almost impossible. Anyone have any ideas on how to cut these names down with a script of some kind?

Definitely doable. Maybe not easily, but it's possible. What would the ideal end result look like?

Rather than mess with the user data, why not use robocopy?
