How many actual sim questions do Cisco use in their question pool ? Over the past 2 weeks I know 3 people who have sat the exam and all have had one sim question based on configuring Vlans.

I personally had an OSPF sim, I know there is a VLAN sim and if I remember right there is also a RIP sim.
I would guess that the total number of sims isn't much bigger than half a dozen or so.Working on CCNP: [X] SWITCH --- [ ] ROUTE --- [ ] TSHOOT

Just FYI, I know a lady here at my job that writes exam questions for the Cisco CCNA. Every tech and we are talking about 200 of them have to be certified by December 31st. So recently, within the last two months we have a lot of engineers take the exam. The way Cisco works is that they have sets of sims. They are changed on a timely base. There was a pattern. First all the techs that went a couple months back all got OSPF sims. Some of them went to take the test 2 or 3 times and always got the same sims. A couple weeks back Cisco changed the sims to VLAN sims.
So if you here from multiple people that they just went to take the exam and had the same sims, that is why.
Ask people that took the exam just a couple days ago and you will most probably get the same sim. -

It consisted of a large network, where a new switch was introduced to the network. Given the information of the network, he had to determine the IP Address, Sub-Mask and Gateway to configure the new switch with. Make the switch part of a particular vlan and vtp domain. He wasn't ready for something that elaborate.
