I am just working through Todd Lammle's, third edition page 240, static routing. I have no hosts connected on the ethernet ports. Will it work if I cross over the right wires within a cable and plug them in the holes or will I break something. I think along the lines of bouncing the signal back into the port by making a loop that returns into the same terminal.
I also suspect there is a very easy way, but if you study on your own, if you don't know - you don't.

-if by any chance you have a switch, use it to terminate the links. I wouldn't play with my interfaces even if there's a way.
-3rd edition is a bit old for this version of the exam. get the 5th edition, which is the latest.
