Alternative to Google Maps
the_Grinch
Been at this problem for over a week and haven't quite found a solution. Currently we have a Google Map that drops pins showing where people are when they try to log in. This was provided by a vendor for demo purposes and management just loves it. The problem is the vendor doesn't want to continue to pay for it as it was just meant as a demo not something long term to be continually displayed. We're attempting to find an open source alternative as we don't have the money to pay Google. Any ideas? Basically we're looking to do the following:
Display a map of an area (basically four states around each other)
Input the lat and long which will drop a pin in that location
Actively do this from a stream of data provided to us
Basically if you look at the map on a monitor you will see constant pins dropping showing the location of the users.
Thanks in advance!
