Wii component to hdmi receiver

So I have a wii connected to my receiver with this component cable. The video out from receiver to tv is hdmi. I can see video on tv from wii but no audio. Is that because component/composite audio doesnt pass through hdmi?

    Just get the Wii2HDMI adapter. There might be a setting that enables analog to digital audio on your receiver but I couldn't tell you since I don't know your make and model. You'll have to check the manual.
