I passed... next?
It was a fun exam, wasn't too bad. Like other posts, wordy and opinionated. So what's next? SEC+ seems like a good primer for the CISSP. Unfortunately, I need to wait for my next employer to be a real sponser of this exam. I'm not going to fake the pre-reqs... Having a paper cert is one thing, but breaking the rules is… -
I Passed-WHEW!!!
Did not think this was an easy test at all...scored 740 the first time using Sybex Book. Passed it today with a 804 using the Exam Cram 2 Book and searching the web for tidbits. In my opinion there are several questions that have 2 very good answers, but only 1 is the correct answer. I found the second time through it was… -

Re: Completely brand new to information security....career paths?
Nothing that I know of really, but there are a lot of useful posts in this site. The famous certs that I know of are: Security+ is your foundation. Auditing: CISSP, CISA, CISM Management: SSCP, CISSP (althought SSCP is more technical) Penetration Testing: CEH, OSCP Network Security:CCNA Security, CCSP, CCIE:Security… -
Re: Passed IPS.
Sorry guys/gals. I should have mentioned what i used to study with. I have a cco login so that came in handy to practice the labs that are offered & get used to what the screens look like. Bookwise i used an all in one CCSP book by Robert E. Larson & Lance Cockcroft. It is an older book but i was able to supplement it with… -
Re: A Few Questions...
1. You dont really cover much on the ASA's for CCNA:Security its mainly an entry level view to network security i.e. locking down routers and switches etc 2. I use the the CCNA:Security official exam guide from Cisco press that covers all you need. I really would recommend the CBT nuggets though I learn more from them than…
