exam in 7 days - your input is appreciated
Gents, (bear in mind I am new to forums and not wanting to break any rules or repeat other posts) I'm thinking of sitting the CEH on Monday 27th. I've read the Matt Walker once, scored well in the end of chapter exams. I'm now reading it for the 2nd time whilst creating my own memory sheet, tools, switches, directory… -
Well...WGU it is...
Well I have finally made the decision to enroll and go ahead with the MS:ISA program at WGU. I had my reservations, but in the end I need the masters for the next step in my career and personal goals (check box marked). I have considered plenty of other schools and programs, but for the price and time I could not find… -
University / Government funded jobs
Well I graduated in May and have been doing the job search diligently for the last few months. Although i live in a small (60k) but prospering town the need for IT personnel is low. There are businesses, factories, schools that need work but they are all occupied at the momment. However a position at the university that i… -
EC-Council: Use of Prometric Testing Center
Has anyone had issues/concerns with Prometric Testing Center for testing? I paid $500 to EC-Council to take the CEH exam at a Pearson Vue testing center, however they sent a voucher back for a Prometric location. I have been unable to use Prometric's website to register & I have been on the phone with Prometric since 8 am… -
Passed CEHv9 yesterday
I sat for and passed the CEHv9 examination last night. I paid for and made use of the EC Council iLabs. It cost me about £1,500. I also had access to their online Video tutorials. I also read the two main books on CEH . I had wanted to start studying since last November after I paid for access to the lab. But I did not… -
Re: How do you guys take notes?
Due to ADD and problems retaining / having information stick, I have a bit of a weird routine. For books or w/e: 1). I will read the whole chapter 2). I will re-read the chapter and highlight or underline anything that I feel is important. This will help me condense the chapter and cipher through redundancies while… -
Re: Question about WGU voucher requests
My mentor has been great, I've had a few fairly long conversations with her. I know some people have complained about mentors trying to get calls over with, but I haven't really felt that with mine. uCertify isn't great, and I've found a few mistakes in some of their questions. I did feel that their questions were worded… -
Re: Took new CISSP test in May 2015
I took the CISSP on 4/11 and passed first time. My study was based on ~120 hours over 3-4 weeks. Read the most important Shon Harris Chapters (the ones I was weakest on), the Conrad book (cover to cover), and Conrad's 11th hour (twice). I also took LOTS of test questions from Shon Harris (the enclosed CD), Conrad (free… -
Re: Would the world of certifications be better if all expired after a period of time?
I like the approach that Microsoft has taken with versioning their certifications. If someone is an MCSE on Server 2003, I feel confident that they can work their way around Server 2008, but an MCSE on NT4, not so much. The other thing that I really like with this approach is that it shows longevity. MCSE NT4, 2000, 2003,… -
Re: CCIE Sec Lab Diary - or how to make Ahriakin's brain implode
Well had to postpone the exam due to some family issues (it has not been a good month) but I'll try to finish it off this or next week at the latest. The cutoff for the current blueprint is right around the corner so I don't really have much choice, besides I need to get back to the CEH and JNCIE-Sec so it's annoying me…
