    Sorry folks, I have to play the devils advocate here. In the U.S I personally think if you're going for a linux certification, you should solely focus on getting a Redhat Cert - a quick look at job sites should tell you why you shouldn't bother with other certs. In my 12 years in IT I've seen first hand what that cert have done for the life of my friends and some members on techexams.

    When it comes to Linux, its all about what you know. Certifications are great for finely tuning your skills or learning new ones, but when it comes to an interview, any Linux admin is going to know within 3-4 questions how skilled you are in Linux. When you're talking about ROI I believe Red Hat certifications are the highest as it shows you have hands on knowledge and didn't take a multiple choice test. You can bet having an RHCSA/RCHE will put you above the competition if you are neck and neck with another person in the hiring process.
