5:30 AM - I wake and get ready for the day
6:30 AM - I leave for work
7:00 AM - I arrive at work
7:15 AM - I get settled at my cubicle and go through emails and make sure automated processes and scripts are running
8:00 AM - Coffee
8:00 AM to 11:30 AM - Development, code review, attempt to understand Oracle documentation. Downtime consists of TE, Security News, and Studying.
11:30 AM - Lunch
12:30 PM to 4:00 PM - Same as above, but usually downtime activities. -

FloOz Member Posts: 1,614 ■■■■□□□□□□I dont really have a typical day since things can break/change in an instant. But here it goes anyway.
7:45am - Wake UP
8:45-9am - Arrive at work and have 9am meeting
9:30am - go through emails, lync messages, etc
10am-12pm - start going over various projects I am working on, with tons of monkey wrenches being thrown in the mix
12pm - Have a quick lunch from our fully stocked catered cafeteria I free food/snacks
12:30pm-4pm- Typically have a few meetings in the afternoon. If not I continue working on projects/tickets/supporting network stuff
4pm - Meeting to discuss changes for the night
4pm-6pm - Execute any changes that are planned for that night or work with another engineer on a change they are doing
7pm - Get home. Quick workout, shower, eat
8pm - CCIE studying
12pm - BED TIME -

Sounds like a great job. So you develop applications that are used for security? I don't understand sorry -

I like your schedule, seems like you manage your time to even throw in a quick workout. Kudos. -
Expect Member Posts: 252 ■■■■□□□□□□I will explain,
I was hired to do security related work, at first.
but I also do a lot of security unrelated development, which is for the appliance.
we provide a load balancing solution as an appliance, so I also do auditing & penetration testing on our product before it is sent, define the road map in terms of security enhancements, and I also answer customer's security requests.
I guess the focus depends on the day/project. -
chandima5320 Member Posts: 5 ■□□□□□□□□□6:40AM: Alarm starts going off every nine minutes
7:40AM: Finally decide to crawl out of bed.
8:00AM: Arrive at work. Respond to any emails received in the evening (usually none).
8:15AM: Get coffee and pull a snack bar out of my desk.
8:30AM - 12:00PM: Respond to calls/emails/visits as they come in. 90% of the time I'm sitting here studying, reading articles, and talking to my girlfriend over hangouts.
12:00PM: Drive 10 minutes home to get lunch. Sit on the couch and avoid thinking about going back to work.
1:00PM - 5:00PM: Same as the morning, though I'll probably be feeling more tired about it.
5:15PM: Arrive at home, change, and contemplate dinner.
I lead an exciting life.

FloOz Member Posts: 1,614 ■■■■□□□□□□Doing some cardio really helps to get the blood flowing. Before if I came back from work and started studying right away I wouldn't retain anything. My typical work day can at times be very stressful on the mind so a workout definitely helps.

7:30AM - Arrive to work.
7:30AM to 8:30AM - Surf the web, look at tickets, and other projects
8:30AM to 11:00AM - Go out to sites and complete some trouble tickets.
