Cisco Inferno Member Posts: 1,034 ■■■■■■□□□□I've gotten crazy, stupid EXP at my current MSP.
The work is nonstop; but so are the opportunities for learning.
One week here... feels like "two weeks" anywhere corporate.
It's been 10 months thus far; i plan to stick it out until next summer.
Maybe i just got "lucky" and landed at an exceptionally-run MSP.... but i don't get all the angst directed at MSPs :]
Yep due to the constant stress and the concept of "billable hours" everyone at an MSP is usually on edge most of the day if its not a good MSP thats tuned well.
I have a feeling the stress of an MSP has something to do with this story here. Its very "hit the ground running".
And you are right, people say the exp at an MSP is worth way more than a normal enterprise environment.2019 Goals

I appreciate the unending projects and hootenanny. I like being pushed to the edge while managing myself to get my projects taken care of.
I hear about how at some massive companies you need to go before a change management panel before making a change to the network. It makes sense when one change has that wide of an impact but holy **** I never want to have to deal with that type of bureaucratic bs. -

ha!
Change Management is a Necessity at my MSP.
We have too many clients; and too many cooks in the kitchen.
Whenever something Blows Up.... finding out "what changed?" is always the first question asked.
I used to be annoyed by CM; Not anymore.
It definitely has a place in a Well-run organization.
But, Yeah, definitely get-good at your MSP.
the EXP can potentially put you miles ahead of the competition...
