Failed SY0-601 for the second time, 711. Moving on.
Rehashing, (no pun intended) https://community.infosecinstitute.com/discussion/139215/failed-sy0-601-retake-or-is-cysa-just-good#latest
I took the SY0-601 on Saturday and failed for the second time with a 711, less then my last fail 741. But I will be moving on to the CySA+ 003. I know, I know, why would I be taking the CySA+, if I failed the Sec+, because I have a voucher the school gave me. Maybe my study methods will be better this time.
I have about 11 weeks, I have to take by October 12th.
So I feel the exam questions were based too much on experience as opposed to knowledge, (yes, I am complaining, but not to be expected). Since the exam expects you to have experience. I may have experience in IT support, but not in actual security.
I had a total of 4 PBQs.
PBQ consisted of 1. Configuring a firewall for routing different types of traffic, 2, Determining servers that were infected based on scans and root cause device of infection, 3. Classifying Data (PHI, PII, etc) and method of destruction/disposal, 4. Remedial actions based on scans for clients and servers.
I will be looking at the SY0-701, but that will be by the end of the year or maybe next year.
I think the one thing that upsets me about failing, is the cost of taking it again, $404. I was lucky to purchase at the vouch for SY0-601 at the school for $240.
Well, if anyone can cheer me up and tell that they failed it more then 2 times, that would be great.
Take care and be safe.
