In the UK at the moment CCNAs can get anything from £20-£25 / hour contracting depending on experience. That's based on a max work rate of 37 hours / 52 weeks giving £48.750 (thats getting close to $100k)
CCNP/CCSP etc can typically contract at £25-£35 (£68k / $130k) and I regularly see work for certs with good experience for £450 a day (£117k / $226k)
Obviously these figures are for contracting and permanent employees will get less but get holidays, sickness, etc.
My point is that if you want to be an IT Director then usually it's not about the money as for that level, you can usually get much more money contracting. Its about wanting to be the one holding the reins and taking the responsibility.Kam.
