Here's mine, unedited and not cleaned up for a picture.

comps.jpg

Rockin dual 24s. My fx-60 system on the bottom. Spend like 4 grand on that system two years ago. $1300 just for the processor at the time. Never buying a top of the line system again. 2 Raptors raid 0, 2x 400gb, 750gb drives. X-FI sound, TV tuner, just put in two 3870s. I haven't reinstalled Vista yet, I will soon. Had to switch cause of video issues with my 7800gtx and 6800. Crappy computer desk my friend gave me, falling apart, but I like it so far.

My 19 on the side is for my lab setup for future endeavors. Got my 8 port KVM, 3 1550s, and a 2450. Not on of course, and only two of the 1550s are hooked up and ready to rock. Older servers but more then enough to handle 2003. I'm looking for a small 12u or so server rack, but they're **** expensive as hell. I'll have to make one myself.

Anybody else feel like sharing a desk pic? Feel free to comment on things in the picture.

There's also a Effen Black Vodka bottle at the top left, that's a bottle of Smirnoff Triple Distilled on the bottom & Parrot Bay Passion Fruit

My parents are redoing my bedroom in the next couple weeks, so I'll have a custom desk. :)

Smirnoff? icon_tongue.gif That better only be for drink #8 and beyond.

You should have them do something like this for you:

Here is the one I'd love to end up with (it's only $2500):

Dynamik, It's going to be a huge corner desk with draws (like tool chest type draws) underneath for all my tools & such.

The Smirnoff was bought for my ex girlfriend actually. That Effen Black (Black Cherry & Vanilla Vodka) is where it's at $32/750ml bottle. Totally worth it. Very smooth vodka, it's from Holland.

I actually want to put a mini fridge on my desk sometime in the future. I'll save that for when I have my own place though. Kinda hard to fit everything you want into one bedroom.

I have two for, if no other reason, I'm accustomed to a multi-monitor setup at work. I just can't use 1 anymore now.

I for one, find that I can multi task WAY more efficiently then with one crowded monitor. I'm used to working with two (because of work).

I've never used a 2 monitor setup. I'm probably so used to 1 monitor that 2 would annoy me. That is of course until I'd get used to it.

I am gonna get my second real soon actually. I think its much easier for reading tech links and then performing actions on the other screen. For graphics design its pretty much a necessity. Although I am running outta room.

Well here is my current setup at home. I pretty much spend all my time here. I recently added my second monitor and love it. The second monitor is a great help for running my VM Labs on one side and work on the other. Even just doing regular browsing and research is so much simpler with two monitors.

    Current setup
    3.0Ghz AMD x2 Processor
    8GB DDR2 800 RAM
    ASUS M2M-E MB

    Cisco

I recently Added a 2620,2924 and the KVM
    Dantek Rack 19U
    Patch Panel
    Power Strip
    Cisco 2610 Router
    Cisco 2620 Router
    Cisco 2924 Switch
    Cisco 2924 Switch
    Avocent 2161 KVM

I don't think many people do, but I think they're useful for a lot of people like us. Between VMs, CBTs, Safari, Word (notes), TE.Net, etc., I can fill up two monitors quite easily.

My wife even uses two when she plays WoW. She'll have the game on the main screen then a map or notes in a browser on the second. I've had some influence on her though...

I have actually run all three in my pic. Use 1 24 for gaming, 1 24 for Vent, Aim, internet, the other 19 for TV. There's 3 right there. That's when I want to be realy comfortable.

I refuse to work with less then two monitors. My computer at work has a crappy video card, so I broke down and got a pci graphics card so I can add another.

I guess my mind just works differently then -- minimizing/maximizing windows and navigating with Alt+Tab has always been enough for me :)

I miss having a dual-monitor setup, but most all of the money is going towards debt reduction. I used the first monitor for painting in Photoshop and the second for having reference pictures on screen. Or for watching movies while working on whatever. It was pretty handy to have around.

Speaking of which, I wouldn't mind a second monitor. I do a lot of blogging about labs I do and would love to be able to not have to switch between browser and VMware all the time. I wish I had the money for a second monitor right now. All my money is going towards mortgage, car payment, furnishing my house, and debt reduction. Anybody want to buy me a monitor?

I don't use alt-tab anymore. It's futile with another monitor.

I just moved.. so no pics... But on my desktop I have 3 monitors. ( I want 4 like i have at work) but I have two more computers that have a single monitor each.

    Computer 1 usage -
    1. general desktop
    2. Work
    3. Reading ( monitors are bigger)
    4. Attached to lab
    computer 2 usage -
    1. Mostly code - VB,TCL, ( IDE)
    2. Attached to lab
    computer 3 usage -
    1. Encode/Trans code
    2. Video Watching
    3. Network Streaming ( Xbox,Tv's,Sirius)
    4. attached to lab

I have move computers but those are the ones that are 24/7..

All these multi-monitor setups!? What ever happened to the multi IBM PS/1 setups? huh? I reckon you could fit a Hi-Def movie across 4 maybe 5 of those screens. It would be like panoramic vision. Maybe get a little cluster going on there also.
