I have a user who connects to the internet via aircard and connects to VPN. However he is unable to get to our intranet or any internal sites while on the aircard and VPN. The page will not even open. Any ideas?

I agree with jimmy. First thing I'd check is DNS.
Try pinging a website by name and IP.
Here's an IP for google.com: 209.85.171.100 -

Can he ping internal IP's? Does the same behavior happen no matter where he is physically located, or does it only happen from one place like his hotel?IT guy since 12/00
Recent: 11/2019 - RHCSA (RHEL 7); 2/2019 - Updated VCP to 6.5 (just a few days before VMware discontinued the re-cert policy...)
Working on: RHCE/Ansible
Future: Probably continued Red Hat Immersion, Possibly VCAP Design, or maybe a completely different path. Depends on job demands...
