    Seriously?

I wouldn't know because I haven't taken an (ISC)2 exam, but from what I recall the worst thing about the ISACA exam was how long it took...

Nah, usually I just pick a random member to curse at and call names periodically.

I do the same thing on the phone at my customer's site...pick it up, dial randomly, and let the name calling begin.

Spend ten minutes with someone in a back-alley, and you'll get to know him pretty well...

You do not need any certifications to qualify for CISSP certification. Having a specific cert or college degree will waive one year of required experience. The MCITP is not currently on the Approved Credentials for Experience Waiver list.

Did I just see CIW Web Associates AND Security+ listed as certs for experience waivers? Wow.....lol. icon_surprised.gif

Is that each cert is a waiver for one year each? Or you are only allowed only a year waiver with only one of those certs?

No matter how many certs from the approved list that you have, only 1 can apply to the waiver. You can only waive 1 year total.

Thanks for that I was just curious.

The access control and cryptography domains are more than enough to satisfy my experience (if/when I ever go this route).

Was really just floored to see CIW Web Associates as a cert that would qualify as "experience" though....lol. At least Security+ is a bit more on the respectable side though.

Yea and now that Sec+ is going to the CPE model in 2011 it should have a little more rep in the industry. It will no longer be a "take it and forget it" cert.

Security+ has more respect that people think. It's recognized by Microsoft and the US DoD and is part of the HIPAA certification. And as silly as it seems, putting "CISSP, Security+" after your name on your business card has become a smart thing because of how recognized Security+ has become.
