Finally! So tired of the constant, "Wait, I am updating my status." crap.

But I am wondering, Facebook is HUGE...I doubt a DoS would even phase it, wonder what they have planned. Are they going to, or have they, slipped in some code somewhere to make a minoot change that would drop the voltage of processor fans slowly overheating all systems? They going to kill the A/C of the DCs? They going to hack some government's missile silos and reign fire down upon the DCs?

I am no hacker so I wouldn't know what they might possibly be thinking, but boy would I like to know. Any thoughts?

Picture if they got every user machine that connects to facebook will become a bot/ zombie to serve anonymous. Picture that DDOS 0_0 but yea it would need to be very orchestrated / planned out. Facebook is filled with IT pro's I'm sure so its different than what they typically mess with on a day to day basis.

    Billions of farmville acres ruined.

How will I know when Suzy What's-Her-Name is stuck in traffic, or has a bad case of the "Mondays".

I will miss the new additions to Failbook.org though.

If facebook gets DDoSed on a large enough scale, there is nothing their network engineers can do about it except wait and sit it out.

I like their speech, true underground spirit.

If what they say is true about facebook selling personal information then I'm glad they will take it down. I don't think facebook is an easy target, specially now that they've been warned.

Personally I don't much like anon, They screw up constantly, second of all if you want the world to support your cause why are you releasing their personal credit card info to the world in ****? Isn't that kind of counter productive?

And lastly they don't give to shits about the people that fight with them, they are still giving out the LOIC program to people, and that has worked out so well for them.

I'm with others who said nothing will come of it. They tried to take Amazon down for a couple of hours and nothing happened so they gave up. I'd say the 5th of November will pass like any other day and we won't remember, remember (get it?)

I'm not so sure. Amazon was built from the ground up to be resilient. Same with Google. Trying to take them down is like **** into the wind.

Facebook.... I don't know. If I were betting, I'd hedge against anything happening, but I won't be a bit surprised if they do manage it.

Let's be honest, if they had come out and said they were going to take down Sony prior to any news of Sony's sieve of a security policy, would anyone have taken it seriously? After all, we're talking about one of the biggest companies in the world. Every once in awhile, David does kill Goliath.

Actually battery life would most likely decrease since the app would be unable to connect to facebook, so it would constantly keep pinging it, keeping the connection alive, draining the battery. Plus you can imagine all the smart phone users out there closing and refreshing trying to connect for hours on end lol.
