Network Engineer Interview

Well I have my first interview for a Network Engineer tier 2 position. I am so excited and nervous at the same time. I have seen some posts on here with some sample interview questions that I will be going through and preparing for. Is there any advice I can get to improve my chances of getting a second interview?

What is your opinion about the "why are you leaving your current employer question?" I really looking for a place that I can learn and grow within but I am also looking to make more money. Is this something I should say during the interview. Considering that I am drastically under paid. This is my first networking gig and I needed the experience for my resume so I was ok with sacrificing the money for the experience.

It happens like that sometimes but just be confident that you will be considered.

Sure, I always email to thank them and express interest in the position.

Well I just sent the thank you email. Tomorrow it will be one week since my interview. Still keeping my fingers crossed.

Well unfortunately I have yet to hear from them. Tomorrow it will be two weeks since my second interview and I have not heard a peep from them. Oh well looks like I need to keep plugging away on my certs and school and keep my eyes open. At least it was a great experience.

Sometimes company have a need and interview to see what is out there but the internal paperwork to sign off the hiring isn't complete yet. Other times the vacancy is there but it gets bumped due to things happening or not happening internally. They may get back to you. Meanwhile keep applying for jobs.
