New Job

Accepted an offer of Senior Consultant position today. Seems like a great company with lots of advancement opportunity. Salary wise, I'll be closer to $200k than $100k. Not bad for someone 2 weeks shy of 3 year in IT. Too bad wife's working late tonite. icon_sad.gif

Congrats. What a salary. I think I was making 35k 3 years into IT...

I'm close to 10 years and probably am not making more than what you are hinting at... I would like to note that I don't care. I feel I'm paid what I'm worth... That's a hint to those who need to learn how to value themselves.

    Thanks everyone.

For those curious, before 3 years in IT I spent 14 years as a mechanical engineer. Skills such as technical writing, design methodology, project management all translate to IT.

Also, in the 3 years I've been working in IT, I've learned enough to pass 4 entry level, 6 associate level, 4 professional level and attempt 1 expert level certs.

    I hate you.

j/k man, good to see TE'ers raking in the money. Fine example of your stars lining up right. But they didnt line up right just like that, you've put in the effort. You only get out what you put in.

@ Poly not as much as design methodologies. Integrations and architecture pay a lot of money. A former college mate works in the smart grid / power industry makes the kind of money Dave makes. He designs system integration with UML and provides a host of other roles/solutions.
