Yes GFs might bring Serial Transmitted DDos so you just better hand on to your console cable til the background check is done icon_twisted.gif

Serioulsy, balance in all things. Young @ 22 I thought get all the degree/certs and toys and then get the girl. I got the girl, degree and some toys. Never trade her in for 6509e. European girls are the way to go, Polish is best.

My other bro 6 figures no degree or certifications. Now doesn't that make you mad?! LOL It's all good.

I don't take this so seriously, just wanted to put in my two cents that not all women are Oprah-Dr.Phil-aholics who need to be the center of attention all the time. Yes, it's hard to not be at least a wee bit sensitive about men describing women as annoying and self-centered and such, especially when you're a chick in a highly male-dominated field, but all I can do is say my piece about it and feel sorry for guys who actually feel like that and move on.

Yes, I think we all here pretty much are the non-caveman type.

    Anyway, BAKE ME A PIE!

I allow people to bake whatever they want as long as they agree to do it in my kitchen while wearing nothing but an apron. More often than not, that policy comes back to bite me in the ass, but every once-in-awhile, someone comes by that makes all the suffering worth while (just don't tell my wife icon_eek.gif).

I occasionally make some sexist comments, but I hope all the women out there know it's in good fun. In actuality, I'm just bitter about being inferior to the opposite s3x icon_cry.gif

I'm serious. Plantwiz could effortlessly kill me with her bare hands...

I have this love/hate thing with Dr Phil...mostly hate though. I only watch Dr Phil when I need to let off some steam & feel like yelling at the TV. It's a pretty safe bet that he'll have some moron(s) on and give out some "tough love" common sense advice they could have gotten by reading "chicken soup for the soul" (or some other fluffy self-help type of book) and WITHOUT having to embarrass themselves on national television!!

where there is $$$$ there is a hot babe you can spend time with.
This theory is more useful to me than Einstein's Relativiy.
I used to search for a good girl friend months ago. I wasn't as good in dating women as I am in dating routers and switches. I realized that I was wasting time. Most girls are looking for seem-to-be-rich or totally-devoted guys. They rarely pay attention to us, until they spot us driving a red sportscar.
So I feel lonely, sometimes anxious and frustrated. But that fades away when I remind myself "that's the price to pay before enjoying a nice relationship". icon_rolleyes.gif

Please tell me you don't actually think all women are that shallow. Then the women will just point out that all men looking for in a woman is physical attractiveness.

How about most people are shallow, regardless of gender? Look for someone better, and hold yourself up to the same standards.

    Edit: ME LIKE COOKIES, TOO!
    Good luck to all!

While I have to admit that I used to have girl friends (notice that I said USED TO) that only looked at guys with nice cars, I have to agree with HeroPsycho and say that materialism and jerkiness is not a gender-specific thing. In general, the majority of people are shallow and money focused and looks focused.

I've said it before, I'll say it again - if you think all you're going to find are materialistic, jerky, self-centered people of the opposite s*x, then that's probably what you're going to come across. You usually find exactly what you're looking for. BUT if you start looking at the other gender (and people in general) as flawed but interesting humans and keep a good attitude about it, then it's surprising the very cool people you can meet.

This is turning into the Dr. Phil thread.

I am quasi-happily married, so this may be only theory on my part, but:

I think it is fine for a guy with money to be with a beautiful girl for only those reasons. Of course there has to some connection and mutual respect, but it can work.

The guy is with the girl for her beauty and sexuality.
The girl is with the guy for stability and materialistic reasons.
Everyone gets what they want, no one is tricked.

If I hit the lottery, I fully expect my second wife to be younger and a million times better looking than I am. It's just the way of the world, and I am okay with it.

    :D

bleh, not a fan of raisins in cookies and I tend to only bake things I like to eat, sorry. I've never tried to bake regular oatmeal cookies before though. Hmm, maybe I will be doing some experimenting this weekend...

Oddly enough, I never used to bake before I moved to Toronto for a while and was out of work for the first few months there...I had a bunch of free time on my hands and I started to make cookies and bread. Before that, my husband used to do all the baking (YES, you read that right!) and he makes the best coconut macaroons on the planet and a cheesecake to absolutely die for. He makes a godawful mess in the kitchen when he bakes, but the results are so yummy that I really can't complain! icon_lol.gif

Dammit, all this talk of desserts is making me hungry, I'm going to end up ruining my dinner!! icon_mad.gif

Sheesh - some of y'all need to get a life.

I love my ex wife .... well, both of them actually and would put either one before a Cisco certification - or any other certification for that matter.

My girlfriend is neither of those... We are both unique people looking to have a great time. So we have a great time. Of course I choose my woman over a certification. She is awesome to me and I'm awesome to her. Rarely do we fight, but I'm always guiding/complaining about the little things she needs to fix (problems with her money and such). She loves me for trying to help her even though it can get a little old.

Awesome relationship... If you want a great woman, you have better luck if you find the real individuals out there, and not stereotypes. I can't group my g/f into any group other than sweet/caring etc...
