Would you know what class you transferred in that cleared the RIT1
    Leadership Concepts and Applications?

I had an ROTC Leadership class that transferred in for my RIT1.

As far as the webcam tests go, I only had three or so that I could have done by webcam and chose to do them at Prometric. It just seemed easier to drive 10 minutes away than try to do it at home without distractions by my family.

I was really impressed by the CIW courses. So much so that I am seriously considering buying the materials for the Perl course. Every exam from any provider usually has an oddball question or two that you couldn't possibly have prepared for without some serious time or on the job experience. At least it's nothing like the MS courses.

It sounds like you are doing very well. Don't get lazy with all of your forward progress and think you have time to take off. Most likely you will come up against something that will take you longer than anticipated. I would highly recommend getting KET1 opened up so you can see how long the programming will take you. I think KET1 and KFT1 will be your toughest classes. If TPV1 is the Project+ class, that one is tough to stay on track for due to sheer boredom.

Thanks Swild, trust me I'm not going to get lazy I'm trying to give myself as much time as possible for the 2 programming courses. I figure if I give myself 2-3 months for those plus the capstone and technical writing I should be good. I had actually thought as well after I'm done going on and getting the professional CIW designations for Web Design and Web Development since you only need 2 more tests to do that after completing WGU. I agree the CIW material is very good.

Dmarcisco for the RIT1 I transferred in a Human Relations in Management course I took at a local community college.

I personally won't bother with getting the additional CIW certification since it holds no value, I just like the way that the information is presented and think that it is a good way to get the foundation level knowledge before diving into some deeper topics.

Kemar1014, I have a bachelor of arts in history from a brick and mortar school here where I live, that satisfied pretty much everyone of the gen ed courses.

Hey all just kind of giving an update here, I'm going through some personal stuff right now and with having already finished 3 courses I think I might end up just going for the year finish instead of the 1 term finish. With everything I have going on right now finishing 3 classes in 5 months seems a lot less daunting than 9 classes. Stay tuned though I might change my mind (as I'm still a month ahead of schedule), but as of right now probably just the 1 year finish. As far as my studying goes really have only read 1 chapter for the Javascript course since the 19th of September, hoping to get back to it by the end of this week beginning of next. Thanks all!

Hey all know its been a while since I posted but sitting for the CIW Javascript Specialist Exam here in 1 1/2 hours. Feeling the least confident I've ever felt about an exam but to be perfectly honest I have no interest in Javascript anyway. Hopefully I can make it 10/10 on certification exams but if I go to 9/10 not a big deal. I'm scoring 80% on practice exams so It's not like I'm far off or anything. Really I'm just dreading the call with the WGU mentor if I do fail because he tries to make a big deal out of everything when I'm not really that excitable lol.

I think you will do fine with those practice exam scores. I thought the same for CVV1 and during the exam I didn't feel confident either but I got the pass. Good luck!

Looking at the exam stuff, I think all you need is a 60% to pass that CIW Java at prometric tbh...

Well that was an epic fail, oh well I knew my perfect streak couldnt keep up forever lol. Nosoup4u you need 75% of 55 questions correct to pass. Well back to the reading grind, I was really hoping I wouldnt have to concentrate on Javascript for another 2-4 weeks meh what can I do.

Wow it's been a while since I posted here, just to kind of give you all an update, after failing my javascript exam (only scored 27/55). I thought I would just pick my ball back up and tread onward torward retaking the exam. That was until work interjected itself into my life, fast forward 2 weeks later I decided that getting a course out of the way and getting my confidence back would be a better option. After looking over the Project Management course I decided to add that to my course schedule. I did encounter a bit of pushback from my mentor on this as he did not want me to be stuck at the end of the semester with only 3 courses completed and 3 left. I assured him that with me having taken a class in Project Manangement and with having the ITIL foundations certification this wouldnt be much of an issue.

Fast forward 2 1/2 weeks later and I just passed the Proect + getting TPV1 out of the way! I passed with a 786 after reading through the sybex book twice. I tried to take a couple of the UCertify tests but they were way to wordy for my liking, plus I dont feel they accurately portray what you are learning in the Sybex material anyway. So right now I am sitting at 17 cu's completed for the semester. Next up is either the Software Fundamentals course which ends with a MTA exam or go back after javascript. If anyone had any advice on which one might be easier to get out fo the way first with the holidays coming up it would be greatly appreciated!

Software Fundamentals MTA is a real easy test. If you purchase the MeasureUp for it, it makes it trivial.

dragonshiz you may want to look into your local testing centers schedule. This may decided for you on which test to take next.

I believe the MTA classes use another company but for Prometric - my normal testing center is closed starting on like 12/19/2012.

I passed the javascript class on my second attempt so I feel your pain.

I was thinking the MTA and then leave the last month and a half for Javascript. Keith C luckily for me the testing center in my town is both prometric and certiport plus they arent affiliated with a community college so they only close for 2 weeks at Christmas and New Years. I take it the version of the MTA test you take for WGU is the VB and not the C#? I saw two exams listed for 98-361.

I think it's up to you as far as VB or C#. Personally, I took all C# MTA exams.

Well just an update, I passed the CIW JavaScript Specialist exam this morning, I decided to pursue that one because of my previous fail on it. All in all pretty easy after studying for it for an additional 2 1/2 weeks, all I did was reread the CIW material, take the practice exams and the domain reinforcement exams, and I watched the new boston series for videos. Now time for a holiday break and then hit up DJV1! 5 out of 6 courses done and well on my way to accomplishing 6/12 this semester!

Just another update to this thread, passed the MTA 98-361 for the DJV 1 Software Development fundamentals with an 80. This one was actually somewhat a challenge. I first took the test last week on 1/4 and failed it with a 67 and you need a 70 to pass so literally I failed it by 1 question. After talking over what I should do with my mentor and the class mentor they were able to get me a waiver on the 2 weeks so I was able to take it today and not have it count as an RS vs. a Passed course (I was going to say screw it and take it a week later regardless of the policy just to get it out of the way). For anyone out there studying this the Learnkey Videos and the Measure Up practice exams (well worth my $33.75 investment) are what really helped me out. The official microsoft material isnt that great and Ucertify don't even get me started on. Up next I might try to get the MTA database class out of the way before the end of the term February 28, or I may just take it easy. I'm half way through 6/12 classes complete!

I've decided to apply to WGU. Can anyone tell me the best track that leads to a CEH? I'm about to graduate with my masters from Keller Graduate School of Management, but I need certifications. I also wanted to know if anyone could refer to someone who could give me a referral please in order not to pay for the application fee. I only work part-time, so I can finish my degree faster. Would really appreciate feedback

Well just wanted to provide another update, I decided in the week I had left until I started my new job I would try to squeeze in the MTA 98-364 Database Administration Fundamentals certification since the material is relatively short. After reading the material 4 times in 4 days and taking plenty of Measure Up practice tests I passed the exam yesterday with an 85! 7 out of 12 classes done and I'm on the downward hill so to speak now. I really wish I had another 2 weeks because I would try to get the CIW Database exam out of the way before the end of my semester in February, but I really dont want to add it to my AAV especially with only 6 weeks left and starting a new job (really dont want to miss any portion of work right from the start even to take an IT exam).

I'm thinking what I might do is study the CIW Database exam for the remaining 6 weeks or so and take it immediately when the semester starts, that way i have 6 months to complete the 2 java courses and the technical writing/capstone. I can definitely see the finish line though!

Congrats! I know that WGU has some policy where you can extend a semester by a month if you have work left to do... I am not sure how this would apply, especially if you would only use it for one of your requirements, as you would still have to go ahead and enroll in additional semester for your remaining courses.

I thought that I wasn't going to finish when I was getting close to the end of my term and they said that they no longer extend terms, at least that's what they were saying in June 2012. What they told me was that if you have less than 9 or 10 CUs remaining when enrolling in an new term, then they will refund you part of the new term depending on how long it takes you to finish, after you finish; meaning that you would have to pay full price up front.
