    @swild - That is good news for OP, then. It is a good incentive for him to go ahead and enroll in another course and get as far as possible with the studying and work. Do they let you take a month off? If so, that may be a good strategy, too... take a month off of being actively enrolled and use that time to get ahead.

    you can take off for a few months, but you have to notify them by a certain point before the end of your term. If you don;t finish a class by the end of the term it will affect your academic standing, but I forget how.

    Hey all just wanted to post an update here since I havent done one in a while. I just passed the CIW Database Design Specialist test today with an 82% to complete the CJV1 course. I am 5 days into my second term so that leaves me approximately 5 months and 3 weeks to complete the 2 java courses and the technical writing and capstone. September graduation I can see you from here!

    Congrats. Do you have a plan of attack? Based on swild's post, do you think that you may finish early to get a refund?

    He had too many CUs left starting his second term to qualify for a refund, no matter how long it takes him.

    A little off base, but I want to enroll in WGU after I finish my AAS this year. I am taking the A+ last week of March, pursuing the Network+ this summer. I wanted to get the MTA's out of the way so I can transfer in as many Credits as possible. I've taken VB class and feel really confident in the material I know. Do you think its enough to be able to pass the MTA? Where can I find the objectives for that test?

    So sad, but so true. I had to pay for an entire second term for ~22CU's I completed in 3 weeks into my Term 2. Like swild said, they only pro-rate. So, anything less than 12CU's will be refunded based on like $250 or something per CU.

    @Rosco2382,

    You can find them on Microsofts Learning website and search each test number then look under skills measured.

    Example, 98-363 (MTA Web Development Fundamentals)

    @dragonshiz - congrats on the CJV1 pass. Earlier you mentioned that the Learnkey videos helped you pass the MTA 98-361 Software Fundamentals exam. Did you spend $190 on this resource or does WGU provide it? I did not see it on the WGU site.

    Thanks everyone!

    Pretty much my mentor has told me that if I finish early they would be able to swing it to where I could start my Masters if I wanted to. Although I'm thinking that might be more of a 5 year down the road thing icon_smile.gif.

    @Ivanjam The Learn Key videos came with the course, I was automatically enrolled.

    @dragonshiz - thanks for the info - I checked the enrollment confirmation email from WGU and, lo and behold, it includes this line "You have successfully enrolled in Software Development Fundamentals Exam 98-361. If you have enrolled in an online course, please expect instructions via email from OnlineExpert.com (LearnKey) within 2 to 3 business days..." Just goes to show how much attention I pay to stuff... :)

    Hey all long time no update but that's not a bad thing since I've been busy icon_smile.gif. I was actually allowed to change to the new java courses mid term and I have to say WGU did an outstanding job revamping these courses. Essentially they split the 2 4 cu courses into 4 2 cu courses. Each class has a project which is essentially a task you complete in task stream and then you take a wgu proctored exam for each course. So instead of 6 tasks that are highly unorganized AND having to find a partner you only have to complete 2 tasks and they lay out every part of the rubric that the program needs to meet. I just finished up the Intro to Programming project and got a 4 out of 4 on the project. I'm thinking next week I'll get the exam out of the way and then onto object oriented programming in July and complete the technical writing/capstone in August. I can see the end in site, getting over that first java roadblock is a huge motivator!

    Hey all another update I received my taskstream evaluation back on my program for theTYP1 course and another 4 for 4! Officially I'm done having to write any more Java programs lol. I have the exam TYC1 scheduled for this sunday and a meeting with the capstone mentor to approve my idea tonight so I can get started on that. 1 month to go but I'm thinking next week I can for sure knock both the technical writing and capstone out. I can definitely see the finish line.

    Just wanted to post another update here, on 8/11 I was able to take and pass the test for TYC1 with a 75%! This test was no joke for the object oriented design and development class as it took me 2 attempts to pass it. I submitted my Technical Writing and Capstone yesterday so just waiting to here back on those. Feels good to be done with all the work but will be great to know when my graduation is official!
