So does it really take 5-10 weeks to get notified of a pass/fail via mail?? Yeesh, I'm not very patient, I don't know how I'm going to deal with not getting an instant grade. (Anyone remember the episode of the Simpsons where Lisa is screaming "VALIDATE ME!!" and is itching for a grade because the school is closed down?! I'm soooo Lisa Simpson...minus the saxamaphone...;) )Currently Studying For: Nothing (cert-wise, anyway)

Essendon Member Posts: 4,546 ■■■■■■■■■■Oh, yeah - I'm stubborn like that! I did end up getting through, and I'm scheduled for Monday the 18th 9am. I'm really glad that I got a spot...now to really get started on the preparations! I've got a lot to study for now: programming (java) final on May 2nd, discrete math final on May 7th, Windows 7 exam on May 18th, and my 70-290 exam on May 27th. I know what I'll be doing for the next month: lots of and little of (with some thrown in for mood adjustment!).
That's pretty full on there. I thought I had it tough, with the 622 on the 7th (company requirement), 680 on the 18th and ITIL on the 23rd (another freaking company requirement). Good luck to you... -
msteinhilber Member Posts: 1,480 ■■■■■■■■□□Prometric's website was sure taking a beating... scheduled for May 14th at 12:30
Going to be a busy month with exams this month since it will be the 3rd. Had to postpone my 70-620 till May 4th since I was ill when I had it scheduled in April. Then the 70-640 on the 28th of May.
Good luck all -

Yea ... quite annoying ... I have never seen a beta exam getting "full" that quickly. I can only imagine that the amount was really low (amount of vouchers that is).
Plus, I am in Europe and so due to the time zones I already have a disadvantage which the website didn't take into consideration. I was still up when it was officially the 27th in the US but still didn't see it on the Prometric site until 6am local time .. then it took me three hours to even loginMy own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -
Megadeth4168 Member Posts: 2,157I've got no one to blame except myself.... I foolishly thought that getting up at 4am EST would be good enough, but it was already full.... Ah well... I'll try some more when I get back from the gym.

colebert Member Posts: 79 ■■□□□□□□□□I had been trying since 2am but what I didn't realize was that my local testing center didn't have any dates available during the exam period. The registration website wasn't showing me the calendar so I thought it was just an "overnight maintenance" issue until I had waited a couple hours and it still didn't work. Then I tried to register for a different exam at which point I sh*t bricks and realized the voucher was ALREADY used up. Lulz...

Poeple are genereally not happy it seems - quite a lot of people complaining on the blog. ESPECIALLY from Europe - fcuk sake - first time I am really annoyed about a beta exam .. I already put in HOURS to create a full environment to prepare for the exam... Got three server here with 2008 R2 and Windows 7 - now I lost interest for nowMy own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -

Yeah, I've already seen the MS blog that announced the beta. It is getting trolled really hard by all the jilted testers. Should have seen this coming... open registration for a free exam at midnight EST which just happens to be noon in Asia. DOH! -

Well I was still up at midnight EST (being in Europa) and it was still not available for us. THis is what makes it so annoying. Its like we were waiting for some bird in Prometric to wake up to activate it for us ...My own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -

Like I said on the technet blog...
For popular Client BETAs make it a requirement to either have the latest client exam passed or have passed an exam within in a specified time period. -

Or at least a specific code for Partner etc.My own knowledge base made public: http://open902.com -

I also like Gomjaba's idea of a special code for partners.
My problem with opening the beta to a bunch of non-certified tards without any experience is that it can skew the strength of the questions. If a question's pass/fail ratio determines whether or not it makes it into the final pool then we risk watering down the exam becasue a bunch of people wanted to take a flyer on a free exam. -

Really makes one wonder if that's why the Vista exam is so easy.... Seriously, the XP exams is much more difficult. -

Alternatively they could be looking to keep the questions that the most people fail on. They figure they'll be getting a bunch of idiots signing up so they'll be looking to fail the bunch. Personally I am hoping for a really hard exam, harkening back to the XP exam.Jumping on the IT blogging band wagon -- http://www.jefferyland.com/ -
skrpune Member Posts: 1,409I can understand that there are a lot of disappointed folks because the exam free spots filled up so quickly, but MAN are there a lot of bad attitudes and snobby comments flying around the interwebs today! Look, I know it's sucky for those who were really looking forward to taking the beta to not be able to get in on it for free, but (at least in my opinion) there's no reason to be saying that only those with xyz certifications or memberships or whatever should be allowed to take Betas. How does Microsoft get valid feedback if they just open up an exam to a select few people who are not a true representation of those who are interested in the exam anyway? They may even get better feedback from a wider audience like this. I'm thrilled to be able to be part of the beta exam process for the first time, and contrary to what's being said about those of us who *did* get a free seat, I'm not some idiot who's just taking an exam because it's free and who's going to tank on it (or at least I hope) and skew the feedback. The free part doesn't hurt of course, but I am excited about Windows 7 and about being a part of the beta process, and I'm going to take this seriously.
There are some harsh judgements being made about the non-advanced cert-holders and non-technet members (like me) who are taking this exam. I think everyone needs to just chill and try to play nice. Just my two cents.Currently Studying For: Nothing (cert-wise, anyway)

gwamaka Member Posts: 32 ■■□□□□□□□□It just hapenned...the beta exam filled pretty quickly. I am glad I was able to secure a spot for May 18th, I registered around 11:30pm CST and the prometric server was super slow.
I had a feeling that this was gonna fill up so fast...and I am glad I trusted my instincts.I've never heard of a beta filling up in the 1st day before, I'm sure you can wait until 6 or 7am -
gwamaka Member Posts: 32 ■■□□□□□□□□I registered mine online, I think most people who waited for Monday morning to call Prometric to register bit the dust as there were no more slots remaining.Per the blog: "To register in North America, please call: Prometric: (800) 755-EXAM (800-755-3926)"
Per Prometric: "The office is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Eastern Time; closed on local holidays." -

Well said skrpune. I hate it when people get it in their head that they are entitled to something like this and that others aren't.
Luckily I was able to register for the 6th, I'll let you all know how it goes next week.
