Passed SSCP!
I finished studying and was going to register for the exam in a weeks' time, so I could review/practice more, but when I checked it was either in 2 days or in 3 weeks! I didn't want to wait 3 weeks so I booked first available spot. I studied and reviewed like a zombie, some coffee, no sleep. I actively prepared for 3 weeks… -
Passed CEH
Score was a 99, tested today. Study started with Skillport CEH CBT which is official Ec Council. Then I reviewed the official courseware which pairs with the CBT nicely. Going into this weekend I still didn't feel like I was in the 90% range for passing. So I crammed the Matt Walker and Sybex. I don't like doing practice… -
Reading List for IT Security
Hey all, I was curious if there is a compiled recommended reading list for IT Security. I recent sat for the CISM, have the CISSP and I have read Shon Harris, Eric Conrad etc. Since sitting for the CISM this past weekend I have recently started reading the Network Security Bible by Eric Cole and it is a great read so far.… -
CCCure vs. McGraw Hill Questions
I've been knocking out practice tests through Skillset and CCCure for a few weeks now. I tend to score between 75-85, with the occasional 90. I decided to take on some of the McGraw Hill questions and boy did I get punched in the gut. A good amount of the questions seemed relevant and went along with the curriculum, but… -
Experience, cumulative or full years in each domain?
The CISSP for example, I've always understood the 5 years experience required could not be cumulative from several of the domains, e.g. you couldn't have 6 months experience in all 10 domains for a total of 5 years. It had to be a full 5 years in one domain and full 5 years in another domain, for at least 2 domains. Is… -
Should I do ISO 27001:2013 LA Cert ? No relevant experience
Hello everyone, The institute where I successfully passed my CEH are offering me ISO 27001:2013 LA cert course for a good discount (25%). I am hesitant of pursuing the course at this moment of my time but plan to do the same next year (main target being CISSP) as I wish to be in info sec audit. Along with CEH I have… -
Re: Exeperienced network engineer, what certs should i take next ?
The Cloud is made up of data centers that use Cisco equipment, all brands of servers, and Linux/UNIX/Windows OSes. So, if you want to work "inside" the Cloud as a Cloud infrastructure engineer, you should stay with the Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, and other vendor-specific certs. If you want to work "in" the Cloud as a… -
Re: Does it sound like it's time to really find another job?
To add on what others here are saying, this applies to perm positions as well. I'm in a good job with good pay with a huge Fortune 500 company and I would say I have good job security but I still refuse to get comfortable and sit idly by. Especially with the economic environment and working for a financial firm. All of my… -
Re: starting MCITP, do i need to buy a actual server??
Comment by ptilsen · · Home› Certification Preparation› Microsoft› MCTS / MCITP on Windows 2008 GeneralSearching Monster.com for jobs in Minneapolis, MN: A+ Over 1000 Network+ 48 ITIL v3 41 CCNA 10 MCSE 10 MCITP 2 CISSP 14 GSEC 2 GPEN 0 CEH 0 Obviously an A+ is meaningless once you have moved past DST or are otherwise well established, but the idea that it has no value or isn't a common job listing is ridiculous. A good…
