However, and this was probably my fault, I didn't initially do my experiment right; to the point where I couldn't provide the data in graph form that they wanted (you WILL get dinged if you don't provide a graph...can't stress that enough). Once I called a course mentor and went down what my f'ups were, I did the revision and waited for like 2 more days! What were 1s (and 0 for the graph) became threes...and my experiment turned into a 13-14 page paper. (Sick....) The only thing I had to cite were the experiments I used for the literature review. Now I seek counsel. I am going to go ahead and deal with AKV1. This is going to be some long nights on that one. Might be done within 3-5 weeks. After that though, should I do the MCITP:EA certs OR tackle Tech Writing/Capstone? My term ends on 7/31 and I think I can get at least Tech Writing done after AKV1 and then have Capstone left to do, which is just a minor rewrite of Tech Writing. Then I'd only have to focus on the EA certs, which I'm contemplating using training credits from the job to do Global Knowledge or something, to really speed the EA up. Wouldn't cost that much since I have access to the vouchers. What do you guys think? I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel now, and plus I have no more GE classes left. In the meantime, I'll be working on AKV1 from now until... Yeah!!

Just remember your syntax and you'll pass it no problem. What the biggest problem I have right now is that they took away VCampus and put it into education.certification-partners.com/wgu. The site is basically VCampus branded with WGU. But the site uses frames, is slow and doesn't work very well for me. But luckily I only Database left and that will be done Monday.

That's what I'm trying to figure out right now....I would see it as an advantage to kill TW/Capstone before the third term.

petedude wrote: » Nobody seems to like the Big Java book, at least so far as I can tell. If you have gobs of time, you can sit through the COS and learn a lot. I liked Java Demystified as a starter text. I'm finding the free text at Javanotes 5.1.2 -- Title Page somewhat useful as well. You'll probably need the Oracle Java API pages at least a little bit, and you may be googling a bit for certain aspects like layout managers.
themagicone wrote: » The new COS for Java uses Java for Everyone. Which they give you in an electronic format, also included Wiley plus. For something that I'm going to have to flip back and forth with I bought the book, was only a few bucks off Amazon. I also got the Big Java book because Cindy said they use it in GUT1. I'm starting that in a few weeks if I finish Project+ early. I will say that if you have the Web Designer, JavaScript and Database classes - take those first, in that order. Then tackle Java as it all builds up in more complexity and gives a good background for it. I was going to do Java first but me mentor recommended what I just said and I'm glad I did. When I first opened the Java book I was like WTF??? But after finishing those 3 other classes it makes almost total sense, just need to learn the proper syntax. I'll be hopefully doing GUT1 in May, about 4 months behind schedule, but if anyone is looking for a partner PM me.
themagicone wrote: » Passed CIW Database today. Only took a week! The quickest to get through, the hardest test to pass from CIW for me. I was getting 90%+ on VCampus but the dang finale was written all cryptic and weird. Way different than any other CIW Cert, at least for me it was. Now on to Project+. I'm half way though the book so I should be done with that by end of the week and then another week to take a few practice tests and polish up weak areas. A 48 CU term? I think so!
