Why should I get a CCIE?
Besides for the fact it was once a personal goal. I have earned CCNP in three different tracks in the following order: 1. Voice 2. Routing/Switching 3. Design. The chronological order of my certs follows what I have done with work experience. I do not care about a cert if I can't use and leverage it in my career. I do not…

Daniel's CCIE Security Thread
I never thought I'd end up here, and I still can't quite believe I'm saying it, but I am throwing down the gauntlet: the next stage in my professional development is that I will become a CCIE in Security. This is a long road and I will not rush to failure, so I am not even close to setting an anticipated lab date or even a…

CCIE - Average Hours spent studying?
I see a lot of people posting how many hours they've spent studying for their CCIE. Has anyone kept track of this? I'm curious, on average, how many hours does it take for someone to acquire a CCIE. I know there are tons of variables like if you have a CCNP, if you work in a large datacenter, etc, etc. But on average, how…

Classes to prepare for R&S
Outside of a solid boot camp and the BGP course, if someone is given the opportunity to attend a class, with the goal of CCIE R&S, which do you think provide the best bang for the buck? I'm thinking MPLS then QOS but I'm wondering about SP classes related to routing or other classes I might not have thought of. Thoughts?

CCIE path with Micronics training
I am starting my pursuit for my CCIE R&S at the beginning of year. I am considering going the Micronics path rather than INE. Have anyone used Micronics? Can you give me your thoughts on Micronics? I plan to take the bootcamp this summer. I am curious to know what is their success rate vice INE.
