Queston on Server+
Quick question here, I am planning on taking the server + here in a couple weeks and was wondering how good an indicator the practice test was in Johnathan Lau's book? Usually on practice tests I like to be scoring around 90 before I go and take a test so was wondering if I score a 90 on this particular test would it be a…

Best free revision material
Hi Everyone, I am taking the Server + (SK0-003) in 3 weeks and I need to know what to expect, whats the best free revision material online to use? What should I focus my time on learning? What is the test like? Are there any labs which can help me? I have a very powerful machine which I can use for virtual machines. Any…

Passed with 825
Not the best score I've ever had on a CompTIA exam but I'll take it if it means I can stop studying this stuff! This was by far one of the driest subjects I've had to go through and I'm glad it's over. For study, I watched the SkillSoft modules and read the Sybex Project+ book, both of which were more than sufficient.

Okay, I give up. (BIND madness!)
Hello, all-- I've been trying to set up a test VM (host-only) with a CentOS 6.3 DNS server for days now. I can get named to start without errors, but I get SERVFAIL errors when I try to do lookups so I must be missing something. If I could get the server to ping itself, it would be a huge victory. Hostname is…

Nothing more boring than Project Management
I'm studying for the Project+ exam using the Sybex book and I have never read anything that is this horribly dry. I'm finding odd jobs around my house to keep me occupied just so I don't have to sit and read this. I really hope that actual project management is more interesting. I actually sat and watched paint dry…

Passed Project+
Smoked Project+ yesterday. Personally, out of the 15 certifications I've taken so far it's one of the easiest. It's really nothing more than memorizing a 400 page book (Sybex). Between that and common sense you have everything you need to ace it.

Passed with 847
I passed today with 847 thanks to god, the exam questions was low - intermediate in case you have an experience in projects fields. Passed by Cramming 2 days before exam - Pk0-003 - Project+
Test was relatively easy if you have common sense and basic experience with project management. Just read the end summary of each Chapters and took each quiz then the practice quiz. Easy. Used the IT Project from start to Finish by joseph philips (Great book by the way) I'm reading it in its entirety now (after passing the…

DIY Linux+ index cards
If any of L+ candidates on this forum are interested, we could start a project of creating Linux + index cards, each candidate contributing their own q&a of details they think are hard to remember but important. Hi All, I wanted to start playing around with the command line, and from what I have read, I'm best off creating a virtual environment or building a secondary PC. Passed Server+ SK0-003, But Barely
As the title states, I passed Server+ (SK0-003) today but barely. I skimmed by with a 754. Not sure why I did so poorly. I got my A+, Net+, Sec+ in late 2010, been working in IT for over 3 years, have decent PC experience, little bit of networking and some Server experience but nothing crazy. I got a lot of questions on…

Linux+ pricing?
Maybe i'm not looking hard enough but I can't seem to find a definitive answer on the pricing for these exams. According to CompTIA website it's $173 per exam(really?!). Do they offer a composite exam like Cisco does with their CCNA? Is there any way to get it cheaper if that really is the case?

I'm always looking around the job boards for fun (weird I know) I noticed that a lot of NOC positions require or ask for beginner to intermediate Linux knowledge.
