Well folks, here it is. I've made the commitment to myself that this year I will start working on the CCIE: R+S. This thread at the moment is kind of a placeholder, but somewhere I can come and remind myself that I've made this decision and I will stick with it and see it through. For those of you who don't know me, maybe…
Well I thought I would put up a thread that may be a sticky. Essentially anyone with a written pass who is fully engaged in lab prep please let yourself be known here. This can be a good thread for those actively working on lab prep and to swap notes on workbooks, resources and general banter on lab preparations. It will…
As a foreward considering how much I've talked about various training products in the later pages I think I need to point out that anything mentioned here is solely my opinion, they are not to be taken as statements of absolute fact but just my thoughts from my own experiences, yours may differ. Also the content in this…
I started my CCIE studies several weeks ago (once I purchased the Routing TCP/IP Volumes). I have been reading through volume 1 and decided it might be time to put this all down into a thread! Books Routing TCP/IP (CCIE Professional Development): Volume 1 Routing TCP/IP (CCIE Professional Development): Volume 2 Cisco LAN…
Before embarking on the CCIE Security path, it's essential to have a solid foundation in networking concepts and experience in network security. While there are no formal prerequisites, a deep understanding of the topics covered in the CCNA and CCNP Security certifications is highly beneficial. The time it takes to achieve…
I understand that the PE router will import and export RT. That is how they identify the routes to accept or reject. In that case why is the RD for? Why is it necessary? What happens if it is not configured? Also why does RD have a format of ASN:NN but RT can have arbitrary values?
Hi Team, Like many of the other aspiring CCIE's here on TechExams I have decided to start a thread to track my CCIE progress. I have abandoned my blog in favour of this post and will be using it as my main outlet to tell the world how my CCIE preparation is going, so I will be sure to keep it up to date. Firstly, just a…

Hey guys, I'm just about to finish the CCNP and already started to plan my studies for the CCIE Enterprise Infrastructure. Since I have not learned anything about MPLS yet, I grabbed the book "MPLS and VPN Architectures" by Ivan P. and Jim G. Now in the book I see a lot about ATM and I'm a bit confused since I never saw it…
Hi do you all have any opnion on CCIE in 8 weeks ? https://www.cciein8weeks.com/product/ccie-rs-400-101/ thanks
I've have been doing some reading and was wondering why you would redistribute say OSFP into BGP. Seems to be fairly common but why do it when BGP has the capability of learning routes via null and local RIB.
Hey all, Firstly apologies, posted under IT Jobs and Degrees but got no feedback :( Currently Im a network admin on track to complete the CCNP R/S and am strongly considering studying the CCIE Enterprise cert this year.
