How good is CEF?
I have a router that is currently doing all the internal routing for our network. There are several different subnets and vlans, and all traffic is going through the routers subinterfaces. Due to a Cisco IOS bug, I had to turn off CEF. I'm noticing that the router is averaging high 90's for CPU usage due to all the IP…

When would you ever prefer a chassis based switch over stacked 3750s?
I'm currently putting together a network design for approx 140 users, each requiring PoE to power their VoIP phone, off of which will hang their desktop machine. Loose heatsinks on 6500 cards?
The other day I was unpacking a WS-X6748-GE-TX when I noticed one of the heatsink was odd looking. I pushed it and it actually came off! Switch caching host routes?

Passed ONT & Finally A CCNP
Passed ONT this afternoon. This was my final test to get my CCNP. It has been about a 10 month journey. Enjoyed every minute of it, but somewhat happy that it is over and done with. Hello and ACK
If router (A) send Update as reliably multicast and an ACK is not received from a neighbor, the packet will be retransmitted as a unicast to that unresponding neighbor. If an ACK is not received after 16 of these unicast retransmissions, the neighbor will be declared dead. Ok, my question is during the waiting for…

EIGRP question related to the 16 retry rule.
Hello All, It is my understanding that EIGRP will declare a neighbor dead if an ACK is not recieved in response to any of the 16 queries that it sends.
