Security+ test
First I would like to say nice website. To start I took a New Horizon traing class on security+. I jumped right into the test and scored a 729, of course this wasn't enough to pass. I was really thrown by the wording of the questions. I will be taking it again in the morning. Do you get the same questions or will they all…

TEST OUT
I have got 'TESTOUT SECURITY+ SUITE'. I just wondered how good it was compared to 'transcenders'?. I have other study material, but the test out suite looked the most interesting, but wondered if it was informative enough for the Security+ exam?

Passed Today
I took and passed the Security+ exam which was my elective for MCSE so that one is down to. Yeah! On to the next thing???? Probably knock off Linux+ then??? CCNP, CCDA, upgrade to MCSx 03, or do 214 to pick up security on my MCSx's. Well, have a good week end. PS, the bonus was today was my B-Day.

Thoughts on study time
First of all, I passed today (yay me), though with only a 772 (passing is 764). This didn't surprise me, considering the very little studying I did. I've been reading a lot of recommendations for using lots of study guides and taking weeks or months to study for the Security+. I have 3 years experience in the field and…

security
Hi, I currently have a part-time job working with phishing and SPAM scams. I was thinking about studying for the security+, but wasn't sure if I should wait until i'm out of school (i'm a senior) and can start working full-time since I've only been at my job for a couple months. I was wondering if anyone had any advice if…

Security+ Exam Review :)
Hi all, I just got back from the test center where I took the Security+ exam. OMG, what a weird exam it was. It was my first CompTIA exam, so I was more nervous then usually. After the first 7 or 8 questions I felt I could relax cause the answers seemed so obvious. I think I spent as much time on question 9 as on the first…

PASSED :)
Passed with a 796. Would have liked to do a little better but pass is pass. Time spent studying: Few months. Tools used: Sybex book, Exam Cram 2, Boson and Transcender. Practice with firewall building and port scanning. Comments: Ok .. this has to be the worst worded exam to date. It felt like a liberal arts exam. They…

Yey Passed!
Scored 772. Not a great score but a pass nontheless. My advice to anyone taking this cert is simply to throughly revise ALL of the topics on the syllabus and then some! When I did Network+ I lost a little confidence in the validity of Comptia certs as it litterally took me 35 mins to score 820 which I felt was just a…

Passed
Paseed the exam (86 -- pretty good score, and although I studied my ass off, I can't help but feel that it was luck. Ambigious and opinion based questions seemed common -- and maybe there is a 'correct' answer to every question, but some of them just didn't seem like they'd mean anything in practice. Off to try CCDA/CCNA…

I just passed Security+ this morning with an 812. I agree that there are some pretty wierd questions. I expect the "most right" question, but there where some that seemed like they where more like "pick the least wrong" answer.

A+ OS versus Security+

PKCS Anyone?
I am scheduled to take the exam next week. I was wondering if commiting the list of PKCS#1-15 standards to memory will be necessary. I noticed that there were a question or two on these standards in the Boson quizes. Gosh, I hope not. Memorizing port numbers will be quite enough to cram as it is.
