Just Passed SNAA. Now what?
I just passed the Cisco SNAA exam and have earned the ASA Specialist certification. In addition, I'm half way to my CCSP. There was so little new material on the syllabus that Cisco could've just added 6 or so questions to the SNAF exam to cover it. But then they wouldn't have gotten my $150, so I guess that explains that.…

Spanning tree putting interfaces in err disable
As I am studying for the BCMSN/switching exam this problem has interested me. Below is a short example of the topology, with multilayer switch 1 as the root bridge. Frame Relay switching(in the cloud)
Hey guys, i hope somebody can help me. I have a question about Frame Relay. All the books i've consulted don't explain much on how DLCIs are used in the Frame Relay cloud. That is how the FR Switches use them to route frames.. I'm including an image to make asking questions easier. So the gray circles are routers, the…

default route propagation
Just wondering how people do this in the real world. Jeremy from CBT nuggets suggest that to get a default route in to EIGRP you simple create a default route #ip route 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 x.x.x.x/interface then go under #router eigrp x and add the command #network 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 which does work, but it also means the router…

Practical lab and equipment recommendations
Can someone suggest some good practice home labs to do? I have some CCNA equipment, but I'm sure it won't be enough for a CCNP lab. However, I can't break the bank, but I certainly need to do some lab work. Can someone recommend what I would need for a modest home lab?

TFTP and Linux
Still getting use to Linux, but decided to set up TFTP on my server. thought I would use TFTPd-hpa as this is what every one seems to suggest. my only problem is that it seems you need to create the files first on the server before you can copy a config from a router on to the server. Is there any way in the config of…

CVOICE still give you a CCNA voice?

Buying a 3550/3524
All, I need an extra router for my OSPF labs I am running. I thought I might as well buy a 3550 since Ill need the Layer 3 switch anyway for my Switch exam. I have to say compared to BCSI this was gravy exam. I scored 100% on STP, VLAN & WLAN. Only area that was kind of jacked was the Voice/QoS topics. Some of the questions were off the wall. EIGRP K values
Alright, so every resource I am working with essentially tells me that the K values exist and then tell me never to change them. And generally provide little more detail than that. CCVP or 6 months of college?
Well, I have $3000 that can either go to my first 6 months of college, or buying a few good routers/switches/phones/vwics/cue stuffs and some books to launch me into CCVP with wheels blazing. I'm looking to get a job ASAP, and I am very dedicated with my studies. I could probably be VP by the end of this year if I…

Gateekeper and POTS dial-peer registration
Does anyone know of a way to affect the E.164 address that POTS dial-peers on a gateway register as on a gatekeeper? Specifically, I was wonder if it would be possible to get a prefix pre-pended to the E.164 number that is registered. Thanks!

Still did horrible in the parts that got me last last time. I was pretty much strong and weak in all the same areas. Onto TSHOOT.…

IPv6 route redistribution
I thought I had IPv6 working great. However, like an idiot, I was pinging from R4 so it was a bad test. Every router in OSPF6 can ping every interface running that protocol. Every switch in RIP_ZONE can ping every interface running that protocol. I can't ping from R1 -> anything past 2026::34:2. This tells me I have an…

Your opinion of TSHOOT wanted!
Hey folks, So I've got BCMSN (SWITCH) and BSCI (ROUTE) under my belt and am prepping for TSHOOT. My test prep regimen is not one that cuts corners... but I'm just really curious to hear from people (that have already taken BOTH switching and router tests) about what they thought of the TSHOOT exam. I'm going through the…
