Failed with a 771 and the passing score was 790. I am really upset. Mostly at myself for not following my own advice I usually give to others before the exam and that is to review the blueprint before the exam. I read the OCG and the FLG 3x each and low and behold, my exam had topics the books barely covered or didn't…
Hello, all. I just got Layer 2 & Layer 3 IOU's configured & ready to go with GNS3 1.3.11 For those of you who have studied the switch topics on GNS3, what can't you do? I do have a Cisco 3550 & two 2950's that I plan on hooking in to my PC once I get a 4 port NIC delivered. Aside from physical hardware. What are my…

Hi all, Finally, 300-115 is passed and ticked off my list (woo). Time to a small break and to press onto Route where I will spending longer than needed, trying to master IPv6 (lucky me). Passed by the skin of my teeth, scoring 811 with the pass mark being 790, but it's still a pass :) Woo!
Hello all, Hope all is well. I'll try to make it short and sweet! Has anyone come across lab manuals for the new CCNP exams (300 series)? I did see the Official Lab Manual from Cisco (CCNP SWITCH Lab Manual, 2nd Edition) and wanted to know if there were any other options. I just ordered my switch lab from Ebay (2x3750s,…
Hey guys I got the Cisco Press CCNPv6 SWITCH Lab Manual book right What I am confused is, when doing the labs, the switches already have alot of config already done to them, and some labs I need to fix or change the existing config thats already in the switches The book does not provide any info on what config to put in to…
Best practice says to disable split horizon on point-to-multipoint frame-relay connections. I understand that this helps routers learn routes from other routers on the NBMA link but then doesn't this cause routing loop issues?
Does anyone have any experience setting up VPC LACP connection with vmware virtual distributed switch? I have 2 Nexus switches and 4 esx hosts with 2 10G nics each. I've connected 1 10G nic per host to each nexus switch. 4 connections per nexus switch. I created the LAG group on the VDS and added each nic into the port…
So I am sad to say I got owned by this test today. This was my last test and I would have been done with the Security track. I went in confident and thought I was ready. To me it appears that I studied the wrong exam or something. The sad thing is that I studied the Cisco docs, googled, read and labbed the 642-647 v7…
