I am no wizard with iptables, but should it be possible to configure the PI with its single NIC as a router ? Assuming the attached switch supports Trunk ports (Cisco) / Tagged only (HP), shouldn't it be possible two use the PI as router / firewall when using two VLAN interfaces rather than two physical ones ?
