GCIH resource
I was going over my notes as I've been studying for SANS 504 and found this little nugget for those who are looking for resources other than the 504 course for GCIH cert. I found a note that mentioned a booked title "Incident Handling Step by Step" which is an outline of the course, but more material is covered. My guess…

Official Study Material - GCIH
Hello all, first post here. :) I am currently studying for GCIH, have not registered yet. I am reading Counter Hack Reloaded (2nd Edition) and also the NIST publication 800-61. I am paying for the certification out of my pocket and trying to get through this without burning my wallet. My question, is the official course…

Gmon
Took the GMON exam yesterday. Passed with a hair over 80%. Glad it's over, although had I studied more I could have gotten a higher score. What did I take to the test center and what did I actually use? Books 1 through 6 and the Workbook - I used the Endpoint book a LOT, but that is likely due to my own weakness in that…

Anyone have a spare GIAC GSEC/SANS401 exam?
Hello from NZ! I was wondering if any of you good people had a spare GIAC GSEC exam available - I am going to sit the exam next month though I'm struggling with the course a bit to be honest. I've used my two practice exams already, failed one, passed one but not by a lot. I really want to nail this exam, and I would feel…

GPEN practice exam??
Does anyone here have an extra GPEN practice exam? I did the on-demand course and did not do as well as I would have liked over the past couple weeks on my practice exams, 62% and 70%. Of the other GIAC exams I have taken (ISO 2700, CGED, GCIH) this is definately one I want to ensure I have a solid 80% on a practice exam…

GSNA vs. CISA
What are people's thoughts on the GSNA vs. CISA? I am pretty slammed with a new job but am doing some research on what would be the next best certification. The CISSP was a lot of work, but now I am actually having to apply these concepts (GRC) in real life. Given my limited amount of time and energy, I'd like the next…

Passed GCFE
I took the GCFE exam a couple days ago and passed with an 84. The exam was much more difficult than I expected. I felt like this exam, more than the others, required a solid core foundation of the material. It is always helpful to have a good index but the index wasn't as much of a factor for this test. The test was 115…

GPEN vs GCUX
I just recently passed the CISSP exam and I am waiting on the endorsement process. Passed GCIH today
So I took the GCIH test today and passed with a 73.... close call, but none the less a pass. I took up the entire 4 hours for the exam and thankfully I had a pretty good index. I think I may attempt OSCE sometime this year. For now, I am done.

Title says it all. I am taking my GSEC next friday, I have re-done my notes, taken a practice test, and am reviewing whatever I can think of. Passed GSEC
Took the exam on the 24th and passed with an 84. I must admit this exam was quite unique a headache. This being my first GIAC exam, making it open book makes it even more difficult in my opinion. SEC 504 (or GCIH) study materials or primer
Looking for someone who has taken SEC 504 (or GCIH) recently. I'm headed to a SANS event soon to attend the 6 day for this, is "Counter Hack: Reloaded" still relevant, as it was written a decade ago? SANS 504 Question: Does any one have the audio file from Sans 504
I took SANS 504 last May in San Diego, John Strand was the instructor. Great class but I missed the fact that the audio for that class could be downloaded to help with getting ready for the test. SANS training / certifications are some of the most expensive in the security industry. To add insult to injury they are also held at some of the most expensive venues they can find. So I passed my GSEC today with an 82% in 4 hours 12 minutes. Not great, but better than I expected if I'm honest. It was better than I did on either practice exam though, so I was happy.
