Question about Study Material
I'm preparing to take my exam and I have a couple questions on what study material is most valuable to me. I bought and read the Sybex Deluxe Edition (6 tests on the CD) as well as the most of the information stickied in this section. I passed all 6 sybex test with a 90% or better. Well today I read over some of my…

PASSed right on the money...whew
I went into the exam somewhat confident as I only spent about month studying for The Sec+. I only used Sybex's 3rd Edition Book along with the CD that came with it, my previous knowledge of passing the 70-299, and this site OF COURSE! I passed right on the dotted lines of a 764! I think my heart skipped a beat...haha I was…

passed security+
Passed today with a scroe of 825. I was really nervous with this test due to the broad range of topics involved. Some things I did encounter I did not expect was I had 10 multiple choice questions, questions that were worded "choose the BEST answer". I did have a question on LINUX which I was clueless on and a UNIX…

How good is McGraw Hill's book?
I went to a bookshop to buy "Information security - Practices and principles" by Mark Merkow and got pretty excited by seeing many books that I never thought I could even find. Anyway, I picked this book. Can anyone tell me how good this book is? 'm currently preparing for MS 70-291 and then I'll be going for security+ :D

I'm wondering how much I should expect from a security+ class. My company is sending me to one for a week and I'm curious what everyones experience with classes are. Also, I'm in the middle of studying for my 70-621 MCDST upgrade to Vista right now and wonder if i should shelf that until I complete the security+.

Another Sec+ pass (Tues 23rd oct)
Just another poster to join the fray. Passed Security+ on Tuesday (23rd Oct) with 847/900 (Maybe could've scored more, but we had a death in the family on the previous weekend, but was determined not to reschedule). Still, it's a pass, and that is what's important :) As the previous posted mentioned, half way through I…

Sec+ Preparation
How well do the PrepLogic Tests model the real Sec+ test? I've read the Sybex book and the TechExam TechNotes and have done well on the Sybex Sample Tests, the CompTia example questions, the tests on this site, and the Free-Tests test. I purchased the Preplogic exam last week simply for the free voucher and have noticed…

Subject for the test
Does the test cover much about security policies? A chapter in the Sybex book covers a lot of business applications and policies, and I just wanted to know if it went over these topics much. Thanks.

Incremental and differential backups
Not that I'm the first to mention it, but what is the practical difference, as it would appear on a test, between incremental and differential backups? I know the one has a bit turned off while the other has a bit turned on, but this is never stated on any practice test questions that I've seen so far, so how do I tell the…

Passed Security+ on 9/5/07 with an 885/900 w00t!
This was my second CompTIA certification (after A+). This was the only test I've ever studied for in my life (yes, that includes the SAT and all my college exams) and I got an 885. ARGH! Three questions away from perfection! Damn you CompTIA! I'll get you yet!

Am I ready?
I've taken a few practice tests on this material, had a 2 week long course on it, and I'm killing these practice tests. My question is should I read both the Sybex and Passport books? Or could I get away with just reading the passport? Ideally I'd like to take the test next week and want to use my study time as efficiently…

That test was harder than I thought
I just passed on my second time around. It was more difficult that I imagined. I always confuse some of the port numbers up. Oh wel. A pass is a pass. 770 is what I scored. First time I scored a 756. That is irritating. I have no idea what there grading system is and how it works. I relaize it is between 100 - 900 points.…

Passed today
Well, I passed the Security+ exam with an 814. A decent score in my book. Anyhoow, this may sound like a recording but I will agree with it; don't take this exam lightly! Yes, it is a Comptia exam, and that implies questions that are not too terribly deep. BUT, there are a lot of areas of study (I can't imagine what it'd…

2nd Sec+ Pass today!!!
YAHOO!!! I got an 808. I told myself id be satisfied with >800, so I was glad to see that score. Other than that, it was READ the question…

I'll be sitting the Sec+ Monday morning. I'm feeling pretty good about it, for studying I've used the official CompTIA course book, CBT Nuggets, and MeasureUp for the practice tests. Any advice?

Incident Response Policy (IRP)
I have, pretty much, read two books on Security+ and I have noticed a slight difference in opionion over the IRP.
