Root switch - bids in hexadecimal
Hi, I'm looking at a ICND 2 question that shows 4 switches. Their Bids/MAC addresses are shown as: 0013.8039.9500 0013.80d7.d580 0013.8030.5e80 0113.80c7.9700 Looking at the answer I can tell that 0013.8030.5e80 is the root switch. But I don't understand why this is lower than 0013.80d7.d580 or 0113.80c7.9700. Can you help?

So what does a router do it if receives 2…

RIPv1 and RIPv2
I've read up RIPv1 and RIPv2. Here is some idea I conclude myself. RIPv1 can and should use auto-summarization, which is on by default. RIPv2 doesn't need auto-summarization because each network command has both network address and subnet mask. And it should be disabled with "#no auto-summary". Am I correct?

Each router has a T1CSU/DSU WIC installed. With the "Show ip int br" command, R1 shows: R1(config-if)#do show ip int br Interface IP-Address OK?…

Cisco 1751-V vs. 1760
I saw these two routers for the same price. I'm currently working on my CCNA: R&S. But, even if I don't decide to get CCNA: V, I would like to have something that I can experiment with voice on and still use for CCNA: R&S. This would be [as best I can tell] either a 1750 Series, 1760 Series, or 2800 Series for routers and…

Trick question? Wlan bands.
The 3 bands in 802.11 are 900mhz, 2.4Ghz and.....5.7Ghz? I would assume it would be 5.0Ghz but 5.7Ghz crops up sometimes. Could anyone shed some light on this? Kai.

Why are remote networks shown differently in route table?
I'm doing Cisco NetAcademy Packet Tracer activity. My question doesn't have anything to do with the activity, but why are the static routes for two similar remote networks, 192.168.4.0 and 192.168.6.0 are shown differently? S 192.168.4.0/24 is directly connected, FastEthernet0/1 S 192.168.5.0/24 is directly connected,…

If you're studying, you need to get with it! The new ICND2 test number went from 640-816 to 200-101....weird. I've heard that the CCNA will no longer be a…

I have my test on 26th April. I have just passed Network+ and have been studying for 2 weeks on ICND1.
