quick ACL query

Am I correct in thinking that if you add an ACL e.g: #access-list 20 deny 172.20.20.0 0.0.0.255 and then after put in: #access-list 20 permit any This second line will negate the implicit deny rule? If this line was not in place then it would automatically drop all packets?…

VMPS - Switch Port Query
Afternoon/Morning/Evening All, Been reading up on dynamic vlans and a bit confused..I think. Mock Scenario - Running a VMPS Server on a 6500 switch (or any compatible switch) and I have a 2950 switch connected to a port on the VMP. A computer connects up to the 2950 switch via a wallport. Is the port shutdown straight…

Confused on Odom's explaing on what a routing table is
So Odom's logic has me confused again. This is under Chp 5 Fundamentals of IP Addressing and Routing. He is describing a routing table as I'm not sure what this means. My understanding of a routing table is the destination subnet and mask entries, the interface on which traffic is sent out and the next-hop router's IP…

VLSM Issue
Hello! I am having an issue with VLSM. I'll start with a scenario: I'm given an address block of 192.168.1.0/24. On the Fa0/0 side of Router 1 I have a LAN that needs at least enough host address for 20 hosts. On the other side of the router, Se0/0/0 needs just 2 addresses for the WAN link. I cannot use the zero subnet. On…

Its a very basic question i guess, A switch has Root Port, Designated Port, Or Blocking Port, but all these three kind applies when a Switch is Connected to another Switch, isn't it? How about those ports which connects directly to host, Do those ports works Normal i.e not any one of the three modes, is that so?
