What is the general consensus on length of time a job has been posted? Do you consider long spans to be a negative sign of the company culture? Backstory: After multiple rounds of interviews for a position that had been posted/reposted for 6 months I was told an offer was coming. 4 Weeks later, it's still "coming".…
Hi, I've decided to pursue a career in computing and IT. So I've applied for a part time degree course in this subject area, which will take place soon. I've had various low-skilled jobs in the past, so I'm also looking for a better career in the IT field. Since I have no experience, I was going to take some IT…
Hey Guys, I'm in the midst of applying to a start-up organization under their Information Security department but I am interested in two of their roles: Both are senior but they are on different ends of the spectrum. One is managerial and the other one of course is technical. I do believe I can provide value in both roles…
So I am actively looking for a new job. The reason? Management of course. We got screwed in September by being broken off into our own company. A company that did not have anything in place before we transitioned. Though, you would think they would. Even now, over half a year in, we still don't have a performance process,…

Has anybody ever checked your college transcripts or as a hiring manager have you checked anybodies college transcripts? Is this common practice in IT?
I just started my position a few weeks ago so I'm still figuring things out. This is the first job I've had where going to lunch with the boss is even a thing. The fact that I'm even going to lunch is good and I believe he is looking out for my longer term interest. I know he likes me. Besides the social fun talk he had…
So many employers now are setting up these "talent networks," a place you can go upload your resume to your favorite employer and dream about when they call you with the perfect job opening that matches your resume. How many of you think these talent networks are crap and HR professionals don't even look at them?
https://www.dropbox.com/jobs/listing/1114452 What do you think about this job? I had a friend who listed his job title as 'vibe manager', I thought it was funny but apparently it was a thing and he was part of the HR department (He's not in IT). Do you want to analyse culture for a living?
