I don't have any certifications and never have. I was pursuing A+ but have since been told Sec+ might be more beneficial to not only attain immediate A+ requirements, but also put me on a good path for my Defense IT goals. A lot of people here seem to do self study, but that just does not work for me. I'm also inclined to…
...yesterday, and passed. I actually took it back in 2010 and passed as well. What I can tell you, is that A) it only had 72 questions this time,(90 last time) and it was a TON harder than it was back then. A pass is a pass. I will take it and be sure to do my CE this time.
New poster here. I've been a sys admin for 20+ years, but working for small companies that don't require certification, I'm a little behind on that front (e.g., my last exams were NetWare). I'm now working to pass Security+ 401 before the exam expires. These forums have been very helpful; thanks to all who contribute. I'm…
Friends: I have a question. I just passed my SYO-401 exam yesterday, and the certificate says certified-CE? The first time I took the test, I failed and this was my second attempt. I thought the CE distinction was for the 2nd time you passed using continuing education credits? Does anyone have any idea why me cert says CE?…
What would be the best security certification after the Security Plus exam, I'm leaning towards trying to do some pen testing that's the field that I want to move into, I'm just trying to find the best route to get me towards that after the security exam?
I will attempt to take either exam in 10 days. Which exam would be better to take? What would be the best method for review? I tool the 301 exam previously but it expired before I could renew it,. I have Network+ that is set to expire in a few weeks. Would it be better to complete CertMaster CE for Network+ and take…
I have been studying the material for the Sec+ exam on and off since November and I feel pretty good about things, but I haven't done a lot of practice tests. For the A+ I used Cert Blaster and loved it for simulation practice and for the questions I like Comptia's CertMaster. I want something that tracks which area I need…
Just need some advice on what to expect and how best to prepare for the exam. I'm also not quite sure what certification to go for first was going to do the security+ or csa+ I do have a hnd awarded to me in 2015 which we touched on it security at uni so quite similar with a lot of the subjects but obviously still need to…
Hi I passed the security+ exam today. I watched the CBT nuggets 3 months ago and then kept re-scheduling the exam (About 5 times now) as I wasn't getting the time to read the book. Then New Years day my son was born, and since then I've been ill with the Flu and then pneumonia. I forgot to reschedule the exam, so decided…
I've passed the Security+, GSEC, and SSCP. In that time, I've come to appreciate the Security+. I think it's a great exam to study for. There is a good amount of broad technical information. It gives people a solid foundation on security topics with the requirement to have some technical skill by using performance based…
