GIAC vs Comptia
Hi, I would like to know what path of security certifications serves better to start and build a career in InfoSec: the GIAC certificates or starting with Security + or some other certificate? My goal is to get a certification to get an entry job in security. I already have completed some classes equivalent to CISSP during…

Passed Security+
Just sat, and passed, the exam with a score of 813! I used Emmett Dulaney's Study Guide as my only resource but I had read Darril's SY0-201 Study Guide before Christmas. The exam was quite difficult, I marked more questions than in previous CompTIA exams. Though I have to say Peter and Sara definitely need to re-evaluate…

Passed Security+
I took the exam this weekend and Passed with a score of 836! I read Darril Gibson's SY0-201 Book late last year but then I decided to take the new exam instead. So I ordered/read Darril Gibson's new book (SY0-301) 1.5 months ago and I passed on the first try. I also had access to Labsim, but I honestly thought that DG's…

SEC+ Exam is this afternoon!
I take the exam this afternoon at 12:00PM. I have been studying for a few months off and on, and have been cramming for the last 2 weeks. Hello All, Great website! Curious question... Does anyone have any personal experience on the above listed two books to give me any kind of comparison on the material? How did you study for the security exam? Or how are you studying for it?
I need to come up with ways to study for this and other exams. I've always had a tough time reading something and testing well on it. Stuff to write down before exam?

L2TP and IPsec
This is probably a dumb newb question, but I'm curious. In Darril Gibson's book (pg. 205) it says you can use L2TP to create a VPN tunnel, but that since it doesn't provide encryption you can combine it with IPsec for security. My question is, why would you do this? Why not just implement IPsec? Does L2TP have lower…

819/900. Much easier than I was led to believe. Did not have nearly as many flags as I did for the Net+.
