One of those things
This is probably going to sound silly, but I am having a much harder time learning Security+ then I did CCNA. I've got a few books that are helping me with this, a lot of practice questions, and I have pulled up info here and there on the web. Is there some site or some way to help me visualize a lot of this stuff?
-
Did I read it wrong?
Did i read wrong or is the requirements tougher on the security+ than they are on the network+? Cheers

I passed on my 2nd attempt
Hey I finally passed this thing....... All of my stubbornness finally paid off. I had first taken it about a year ago and I thought that I was ready however about 20 - 25 questions into the test I was asking myself where did they come up with this stuff as it was not what I had been expecting..... Really took the wind out…

PASSED
:D :D :D I just passed the security+ exam 788, it works for me! I think I missed one question for each major area of the test, my score report stated that I missed one or more questions on twelve objective areas. I studied for 5 weeks, and have no previous experience in security. My study materials were specialized…

Security+ Review
Took and passed my Security+ 2/15/06 with an 820! Overall I thought it was a good general knowledge test, with minimal 2-3 questions that were worded badly. I felt it was comparable to A+ and N+, and seemed to be a good cross of both situational and memorization questions. I've been working in the computer field since 2000…

This way I can purchase my study materials and have them…

756 Failed, how very sad
Not bad for learning all this material in a week, but so very sad that i missed it by so little. Some of the questions are worded weird. Is it just me or do comptia use double negative. The question is phrase Do Not, but the answer has, Not or some other negative. Confuse the hell out of me. The tough part also is that…

Picking up books tonight
I just passed my Network+ exam and I am now moving on to Security+. I used Sybex and this site as well as a bunch of Practice tests for study. I was kind of surprised, I used Sybex when I took my A+ back in 2003 and thought it was really well done. However with the network+ I found a number of mistakes in the book however…

I passed security+ but...
I passed it last Wednesday with 812, but during the exam I was affraid that I wouldn't make it... in my opinion: 1. the exam is really hard 2. some questions and answers are not clear 3. not enough time to read it carefully 4. scan it and don't try to understand it fully 5. mark it for review if in doubt 6. strangly, but I…

I am new here and forgive me if my English is not very good ... I went to exam today and passed with score 884, miss 2 questions I think. Failed by one question
I studied for 3 months and failed by one question. Recalling the questions now, I think the exam questions are ridiculous. I probably spent too much time on technical details and not enough on policies. I even saw one question about SQL. I don't recall seeing that in any of the books I have read. The questions are so vague…

Passed the test today (820/900)
I finally worked up the courage to take the test today and it was a smashing success; apart from the mental breakdown waiting for the computer to tell me whether I passed/failed. Question about packet sniffing through a switch...
I thought switches don't broadcast any packets recieved from one port destined to another? Inless of course it is a broadcast packet. So how does one Computer C sniff data that Computer A sent to Computer B through a switch? It does routing through it's MAC filter table doesn't it? So Computer C shouldn't recieve the data.

Impressions of Security+
I took the exam today and I thought it was an odd exam. It seemed like about 75% of the questions were no-brainer easy and the rest were either confusingly written or seemed to have more than one right answer. Sec+ Vs. MS exams
Question for those of your who took this test: In comparison to the MCSA tests (290, 291, etc), how difficult do you feel the test (sec+) was. I'm not the type who likes to buy his books...I have over 50 textbooks from college alone, and I spent most of my cert studying time at the mall reading the books in a coffee shop, so I don't have to buy them. ^^ However for my Security+ it seems they only have one book that covers it, called Fastpace. Things I learned today:
First and perhaps, the most important, never try to cram for a test that has such a diverse subject matter in 3 days. Second before going to sit a test, if you take allergy medicine, make sure it is non-drowsy. In response to another forum on here, I can say with almost certainty that each question on the Sec+ exam does…
