Just saying Hi
Hello folks, Just a quick hi, Ive just passed R&S yesterday now onto the security track.:D

My First Thread - and its subnetting ...
... but not subnetting in the way you might usually think. I seem to have no problem solving subnetting questions, its just binary math. What I am having trouble with is the concepts behind subnetting. Why do we have subnets at all? As far as I can tell, we have a pool of IP addresses (2^32) and that never changes. So what…

Can someone clear up the WAN technologies for me?
How do these WAN protocols relate? I'm aware that PPP and HDLC are usually used for leased lines, and Frame Relay and ATM for packet switching, but... 1. Apparently, you can run PPP over Frame Relay. Why would you use two layer 2 protocols? Same with Frame Relay over ATM...? 2. Apparently, they are not tied to any…

Cisco WIC-1AM WIC
I have three cisco routers (2 x 2610XM, 1 x 1760) two of them have a WIC-1AM WIC installed. I was wondering if they can be used to connect two cisco routers together (eg. to create a wan link)? Is there a corresponding WIC to create the telco line voltage?

should I just start the new exam
Well with the short time that I have to take the old ccna test, should I just focus on working on the new ICND1 100-101 exam?. My schedule is crazy at work , then doing house work and activity's with the child, should I just start reading Odom's book?[h=1][/h]

Estimated Study Time
Currently I'm studying for CCNA, and I wanted to go after CCNA:Security. How long do you think it would take if I put at least 15 hours every week minimum? And I was wondering if GNS3 would be able to emulate everything I need. I already of an ASA image, and router images. Any other advice would be helpful! :)

Train Signal CCNA Voice (my opinion)
I felt like there was some good information in there. However, I was very disappointed when it delve way to deep into CCA instead of just focusing on CCP. It also delve way to deep into VLANs and CCNA routing and switching material. Perhaps maybe that's because when they made the series they were selling this as a stand…

ICND2 (Old Version) Passed!
Finally had the chance to retake ICND2 today after my narrow failure a few weeks ago (818/825!) and scored 930! I'm super pumped - it's been a long journey starting around Christmas of 2012, so glad it's done! I found the test to be pretty formidable - I've seen quite a few people say ICND1 was harder but I have to…

Subnet Question - Finding Valid Host Ranges Fast

Obtaining IOS Images
Hey guys and gals, I recently bought an 1841 for my CCNP studying but discovered that it's still using version 12.3, and Cisco recommends 12.4T. Icnd2, questions?
