RATS!!!
I just got back from taking the Security+ exam on 6-30 and I think I may have been a little cocky, but now at least I know better. I have been doing IA work in the military for a few years so I decided to take the test. I did go to a 4 day course where I was basically told what not to worry about for the test, he was wrong…

Tricky or Hard Test Questions?
Hello all - Getting ready to sit for the Security+ test, just polishing up on my weak areas. Just wondering what you found the most difficult to get right on the test?

Digital Signatures
Digital Signatures and Hashing: The sender hashes a message, encrypts the hash value with his private key, and then attaches this encrypted hash value to the plain text message and sends it to the receiver. I'm not seeing where integrity comes into play here. If the message is sent in clear text what is stopping someone…

WAP Layers
The second practice test (the one with 35 questions) has a question that asks about the layers of WAP. One answer given as correct was that one of the layers is WSL or the Wireless Session Layer. I have seen this referred to as WSP or Wireless Session Protocol. Which is correct?

Just got my cert, preview inside
I just got my certificate in the mail. Same "CompTIA quality," but with a new look. It's more colorful...maybe too colorful, but I guess I like it. I reckon I got my package before everyone who took the exam after me, so here's a picture for anyone who can't wait to see what it looks like.…

Taking security+ 06-15-06
Hey guys, I'll be taking the security+ exam Thursday. I've passed the Cisco Intro. Failed the Cisco ICND first attempt, 2nd to come after sec+. No luck for me!
:) I wrote security+ exam yesterday. I score 723. it is sad, I did not believe that, because I was okay with the martial, my time was okay. I do not know what went wrong, any way I did not spend that much time to study, like 70-290 or 70-29. I probably spend a week reading, while I am at working, but I was okay for the…

Passed today!
I passed with a 780 today! I had an interesting experience I suppose... Half the questions were very easy. Another 20% were moderately difficult and the rest were actually very tough or very vague. There were a couple questions that I had a blank stare when I saw them because it was stuff I had not seen in any of my books…

Passed Security+
Passed Security+ today w/ an 884. Felt it was really easy. A lot of it is common sense. I study for all exams w/ a friend and use a similar method for each. We each buy a different book. This time I used the All-In-One and he used Sybex. We each read through our books and highlight as we go. Then we switch. We also used…

802.11a or b faster?
I was taking one of my practice exams and I had this question come up and I picked 802.11a because it can reach speeds of 54mbs unless I'm mistaken.... The practice test says that 802.11b was the fastest of the options listed. Am I wrong or reading the question wrong or is the practice test wrong?

Taking test on the 21st
I've been slacking for the past couple weeks on my study for this exam and decided the only way that I am going to really be motivated again is to sign up for it so that I have a target date by which to be ready. I hope I have more confidence by the 21st because right now I don't feel ready.

Passed at last
Passed the Security + yesterday - glad that's over with! IMHO, it was a tough test, not so much for the wording of the questions, but because a lot of the questions could POSSIBLY have more than one right answer. And 100 questions in 90 minutes had me watching the clock at first, but then I settled down and read the…

Trouble differentiating TCP and UDP Ports

I've memorized most of the TCPs, but…

Question about Centralized/Decentralized key storage.
