I have been aware of the Security+ exam since it came out, but was never ready to take it on. I passed the ITIL v3 exam in April and it got me motivated to keep going. I am also beginning to focus much more seriously on security. That's where the battle is in the future. About the exam... 6 Sims, 72 Questions. I got an…
Hey, TE Members I have a SEC+ cert and i'm currently studying for CCNA R/S, but I was curious if I were to take the CSA+ would it renew my SEC+ Certificate? Thank You,
I have been reading about how hashing can convert plaintext into something unintelligible. One example would be a password hash. I have also read that a hash function can obscure plaintext data similar to how encrypting data over a TCP or UDP communication obscures the username and password. My question is how exactly does…

Passed Sec+ last week with a score of 794. Having sat the Net+ exam in April I can honestly say Net+ felt more difficult than Sec+. I had two sims only which I marked for review and went through the questions first. I found questions were pretty straight forward and finished with exam in one hour. Great thank you to Darril…
Everywhere I read about Kerberos, there's always this three-headed dog story. Even Professor Messor. Why is it important and what makes them to waste their precious time talking about this thing? Do we really need to know?
First time poster, long time lurker.. Passed Security + a week ago with 790, first time around. This forum was a tremendous help! Along with Darril Gibson's book. I had 6 sims which I had flagged to save for last which is probably the best advice I would give when you go in for this exam. They do take a little extra time…
